Sports Illustrated top 25 post spring

Oklahoma is going to have a quarterback better than Mayfield. Murray the number 2 recruit his class.

Murray hasn’t proven a thing yet as a college QB. Let’s hold off for a minute before we crown him as being better than the guy who just won the Heisman and and went #1 overall in the draft.

Those are two pretty big "Ifs" for OU buddy. LOL. "If" Malik gets his **** together this summer, we will be top 5 easily.
I see what you did with the whole if thing there. The real question is when is one "IF" far greater than two...

So why do some of these other teams "deserve" their rankings? We have to win out first, but nobody else does.

And Vegas had us as an underdog to ND, so yeah they're always right.

If you wanted to be accurate and not just dog Miami, you'd say all these polls, and what Vegas thinks, are meaningless. I mean you talk about our QB play, but you neglect to mention how awful LSU's QBs are. There's a reason they're desparate to bring in Joe Burrow.

Where did you hear me say LSU had a great QB or that they would beat us? I said I trust Vegas more than Preseason Polls...ALL POLLS. No, Vegas isn't always right, but they're more right than any Poll. I said IMHO, so you can downvote me all you want, but it's my opinion.

We've been average for 15 years. Teams aren't given elite status, they have to earn it. So no, not all teams have to prove it. Just like we didn't have to prove it when we were rolling...we reloaded and the elite teams like Bama, Clemson, Ohio St, Oklahoma reload and are given the benefit of the doubt...they've earned that right by being great for multiple years in a row. We haven't earned that, so yes, we have to prove we're worthy.

I'm hopeful we do of course...I BLEED orange and green, but I'm realistic. Our Oline has a long way to go. If it's bad, our running game isn't good and Rosier has to carry us...and he hasn't shown he can do that. He has to complete at least 60% of his passes this year and our Dline has to live up to the hype. We lost a lot of production and we think Simpson is good, but we don't know that yet.

We won't have to wait long once the season starts. LSU is a good measuring stick to kick the year off and I'm jacked about going to the game.
Lets just say I'm cautiously optimistic.

Are you the same HoosierCane with all of those UF "friends"? If so, your opinion means diddly around here

Should we finish 6th on the year, I'll take it. It'll mean we came up short, bit it is what it is and would show progress.

6, it seems a bit ambitious with a lot of question marks all over the team. The schedule is in our favor, so that should help.

Yes, lots of teams have questions. I have questions about the offense we run, not necessarily the personnel we have outside of QB. The OL needs a solution, do we have the staff to find out what it is. The DL, inexperienced in the middle which could be disastrous. The LB's, they'll need to step up their game but the guys in front of them really need to gel. Corner, we're young, but we are finally sizing up well against progressively taller wide receivers. Safety, I'm content there. The big question I have is Diaz and his entire scheme.

We'll see what happens and by seasons end, I expect to know what I have questioned Richt and Diaz on so far. A ranking of 6, 12, 15, or even 20 would've been fine with me. We gotta prove it, simple as that.

Preseason polls are ridiculous. Vegas has us as a 2.5 dog to LSU. They're saying we're not a top 10 team. I put much more merit into Vegas than anyones preseason polls. They dropped us from a 1 point fav to a dog after spring scrimmages. They must have heard that the freshmen QB's weren't catching on and that Rosier was going to be the starter. We have to many question marks and not a good enough Qb to overcome them. We don't deserve a top 10 ranking IMHO. If we go out and beat L$U and F$U then we deserve it, but not until then.

Cold hard facts. Once the word got out the Kosi hype was just that hype the numbers flipped.

You see how many posts I have on this site. I don't post much, but I've been a member of this site for many years. So how could you know one thing about me? So I doubt I'm the same person you're thinking of. With that said, anyone that grows up in S Fl has friends that are Gator and None fans....no matter how hard we try to convert them. lol I went to Palm Beach Gardens and we were the Gators. You could say I was a black sheep at the school, because I've loved the Canes since the 83 title game when we beat down the top ranked Huskers in the O.

Then that means Vegas has admitted that their evaluation of the value of what 'Kosi can add was wrong. I'm not saying this. I believe it's still to be seen, but if we're going to begin on the premise that Vegas was wrong, it doesn't say much for their evaluation at this point considering that multiple players who we expect to have an impact on 2018 have not even stepped on campus yet.

If Miami really did start off as the favorite but the line shifted to make them the underdog, it's because betters are laying money on LSU. It has nothing to do with how well the quarterbacks played in the spring game. That's not the way betting lines work, especially when the game is months away.

I'm all for Texas players but number 1 in the draft could have went to a better QB. Riley system in the B12 is plug-and-play

I'm not really a Mayfield fan so that's all well and good. I saw Murray play live in Denton in the playoffs when he was in high school. He was good, but undersized. He didn't do a thing at aTm where his dad played and left for OU. He has yet to show anything at the college level. Riley's system may end up making him look good, but I'd put it at about 50-50 right now as to whether or not he ends up having a decent career as a college QB.

If Lincoln Riley's system can turn any old quarterback into Baker Mayfield, fire Mark Richt right now and bring Riley here.

Problem is Kyler Murray is projected as the #36 overall prospect in the mlb draft. He had better prospects as a professional career in baseball over football so he might not even play football this fall regardless
**** he went 9th overall, sheesh

I don't get the obsession with ranking mid-majors like FAU. Do people really think they would be favored to beat LSU, Ga Tech, NC State, TAMU? What about "bad" P5 teams like Tennessee, Arkansas, or Wake Forest?
