Look at the COACHES who have been selected in the past:

John Wooden
Joe Paterno
Don Shula
Dean Smith
Mike Krzyzewski
Pat Summitt

That list is GREATNESS, coaches who have won multiple championships.

Oh, and Neon Deion...

I dont think Deion is in anyone's head but the treatment he gets from the media and this example is why we talk about it

All he has done is create attention, for himself, his sons, and a football program. If thats an accomplishment, then fine, but until he actually builds Colorado into a more relevant program based for on the field success all he basically is, is a characterature of branding, attention, and really an example of the new modern age of whats deemed to be a success.

Its not about winning, its just about attention

He quadrupled their win total when no one thought they'd win more than a game or 2. Made Colorado a nationally talked about and for at least few weeks made them a "relevant" program, surpassed ticket sales and attendance from past seasons, had some of the highest rated games on TV. People tuned in to either watch him win or fail miserably. I know people who don't even watch college football that were tuning into these games. Die hard college fb fans don't care about bandwagoners, but network execs and advertisers love them. Despite his flaws, brash/****y attitude, and losing streak, he had people paying attention to Colorado football. This is why he was given that title by Sports Illustrated. It's laughable people are upset/ bothered by this.

"Quadrupled their win total" while Northwestern went from 1-11 to 7-5. But David Braun isn't a shameless self-promoter, so Deion Sanders it is.
