Sports Illustrated recognizing Manny

I like it.
People are witnessing that we are making moves and trying to build something in an unorthodox way.
Trend setters yet again.

Very good write up and pub for the university, particularly Manny for being out front of the pack, which Miami used to do. Hopefully these transfers will all play key roles for us when they can and do play, it is a great way for us to even the playing field with the Bama’s and Clemson’s of the college football landscape quickly. If all goes according to plan we shouldn’t need to do this many in another year or two whenever our roster numbers are such that we aren’t so deficit behind other major programs. Thank God for Diaz and his love of the U - he’s been a bright light in the gloom and doom which was the 2018 season. I think he’ll get us moving in the right direction and do it quickly. And this time it will be built to stand the test of time versus a 1 year wonder.

I agree, in addition we need to continue to be forward looking,bc it’s just not recruiting as usual, but also retaining and replacing, thru the portal as well as recruiting. Manny , said as much in the article. In Manny we trust to stay and keep us ahead of the curve. With the addition of the Portal CF recruiting just got a lot more complex and a whole lot more insane. Gonna be fun.

Get ready for next year. Transfer portal will be like the wild west. My guess accusations of tampering are going to increase quite a bit.

Also, JUCO transfer market will get depressed as portal becomes first choice for shopping.

You know the cards kind of fell in place for us - catastrophic recruiting year, de-commits while Bama and other schools were in a race vacuuming up talent.

Then when Portal time came around, we had some room for "Maestro Manny" to Conduct the Orchestra Portal to the Canes' benefit.

See what I did there?

Good article but I don't think we are hurting at WR like it suggested, losing Cager is an upgrade.

Agreed. Getting Thomas back was all we needed to stabilize the WR position. He gives us a proven game breaker that opposing defenses have to account for. I'm really not worried about him going forward either. I think we get him for one more season, he knows he needs to ball out and keep his nose clean to get drafted, and with a real offense and coaching staff, I don't anticipate the same frustrations and issues arising.

After JT, we have plenty of talent at the position. Let the competition show who the best of the best are.

Replacing Cager and Ezzard with Jeff Thomas, KJ Osborne and Jeremiah Payton is a good trade off to me.

No such thing as bad publicity so love that sporting news outlets are putting out the word that Manny came to play.

Manny's getting a lot of great press for what he's been able to accomplish in short period of time. The Enos hire was yuge and although his other hires may seem suspect, gotta believe he did his homework on all of them.

Never thought just a month ago there would be so much to be excited about.
