You could consider betting on a sportsbook app with an early cash out option and take it when it hits 80% of the payout when betting basketball. Too many times exactly what you just said happens or a team takes out all their decent players and puts in the bench warmers to kill the spread.
 
I have zero addictive personality and can’t understand why people bother betting sports or gambling in general. Seems like a losing proposition you aren’t getting rich on so why bother? Whoopie, you win a little cash or lose a little. Yawn.

I think most bettors don’t want to put in the extra work involved with baseball gambling. For instance, you can have a pitcher that’s 6-6 on the year with a 4.45 E.R.A, but if you do some digging you’ll find that he’s 8-0 with a 2.19 E.R.A. on the road against this particular team for his career.You’ll find statistical anomalies all throughout baseball if you look deep enough. This is how I was able to dominate my fantasy baseball leagues every year.

I'm talking about PROFESSIONAL bettors .... they do all the statistical modeling as their full time job and its the hardest professional sport to win at.
