Special Teams!

Anyway we can work this in? It will certainly be a thing going forward.

Wrinkle should be implemented and drilled at nauseam. Most long snappers, holders, & kickers are creatures of habit by necessity. Their cadence is usually spot on to the millisecond or every part of the operation is off.

So taking full advantage of this fact is just winning football 101. Any and every measure should be taken to distract, deviate, and disrupt your opponents.

Jaoquin said dominate, & special teams members ain’t doin it.

It’s goin hurt dawg when we lose to a lesser opponent by a hair while leaving plays un made. ( praying I’m wrong )

Sol wasn't the STs coach....Chuck Pagano was (and DB coach) from 95-2000...Sol might have been yrs before that. But from 95-2000 Chuck was, especially when Edge was there. Sol was just RB coach those yrs. @Brooklyndee will tell you that. UMs best STs and DB Coaching in our History was under Chucks leadership...that's irrefutable.

He was ST Coordinator here.. That's all I am pointing out, you replied to OP saying he wasn't when in fact he did lead special teams here at one point, 2001 to Coker firing I believe. I didn't comment on Pagano or when it was best, but our special teams were solid under Sol, they currently are *** however so far.

Im well aware...Chuck is and was the best DB and ST coach in UM History. Our STs even when on probation were lights out. When Edge was there Sarge was just RB coach. Our 2 best STs players in our History were Tremain Mack & Phillip Buchanon...both coached by Chuck.

@Brooklyndee ....If I remember correctly, Sarge was hired by Schnelly in 83 as a LBer coach right before Howard left. I think JJ kept him on staff to coach RBs and TEs from 84-88....Then Sarge went back to HS Coaching before Butch hired him as RB coach in 95 until 2000. Chuck knew Butch when Chuck was a GA in 86 at UM and Butch was DL coach....before Chuck left for Boise St following 1986 as DB and LBer coach. Chuck was at East Carolina from 92-94 as DB and LBers coach, before Butch offered him the STs and DBs coach in 95....

@Brooklyndee ....It's kinda like when Pete Garcia was Butch's recruiting coordinator. When both you & I know that CJ, Chuck, Kehoe, and Sarge didn't need him to coordinate sh*t. I know for a fact, Chuck and CJ worked as a team from Fl to all the way Westward, Kehoe the Northeast & Canada, and Sarge primarily Dade.

Ed Reed was pretty good as rushing punts, too.

I'm not positive but I think sarge took over special teams in 97 or 98. I'll reach out to Sarge now and find out. Chuck called me the other day when I was in a meeting. Just realized I gotta call him back. I miss Chuck. Haven't seen him in years.

Pete was just the one who liked to talk while everyone else was busy working.
