Overall, I think our Canes did pretty well with overall special teams play. It looks like Hartley did a great job fixing sloppy play from LSU game. Yes, I know it was versus lesser quality opponents, BUT, I feel we're headed in the right direction.

I don't think we both watched the same game. We almost got blocked yet again and bubba is going to shank one PAT some day. Let's not get on feagles. What worries me is when we go to VT and you know they are known to block a punt if our protection doesn't improve.

Bubba kicked 2 balls out of bounds which is inexcusable. His extra points are all over the place. Yes he made them but clean it up a little. Kick coverage sucked on the one returnable one and the snap to Feagles on one of the punts was brutal. Feagles played better.

VT had great special teams under Beamer. He is long gone. Is there any data that shows their special teams are still as good?

Was Baxa trying to directional kick or was it a straight up pull off the tee? Hopefully the former and they scrap that going forward.

Not sure but he was killing the ball all game aside from those two kicks.

The punts were definitely better and I think we should give Feagles at least some credit for somehow not having anything blocked yet despite people being in his face. I really don't know how he actually was able to get that punt vs LSU off...
Baxa is a true freshman and he has done well if you keep that in mind. His PATs can make your hair gray, but he's made them and almost all of his kickoffs have been touchbacks minus the out of bounds plays.

As long as you're happy, I'm happy.

Baxa was wacked out even on PATs ... spraying it all over the place like an unmanned machine gun

Thank goodness we are 100% in RZ TD's. At this point we have no idea how he is going to perform at kicking something more then 30 yards. It does seem like a scary proposition right now.
