I've actually watched a number of Georgia games by chance over the past 5-10 years but I dont remember how well run or effective their special teams units are. I do know that Richt was running a co-coach system where the TE coach, John Lilly, was coaching the offensive special teams units and Mike Ekeler, the Inside LB coach, was running defensive special teams units. Not sure if that is common these days. Ive never seen that.

Anyone with a better football mind remember how well Richts units have historically fared? Was he a gambler? This unit is or WAS one of the linchpins of our success. Historically was one of our biggest on-field differentiators when we were successful. I would love to get back to dominating on special teams with our athletes.

Either way...cant be any worse than our last Special Teams coach.
