Terrible.

Punter - Not good. We have lost the kicking field position portion of the game every single week against P5 teams.

Punt Returns - Berrios has fair caught about 90% of them this year and a lot with nobody near him. If we aren't going for the block why the **** are we not blocking for a return?

Kickoffs - Kick the f-ing ball into the end zone every time and give them the ball on the 25. I can't recall a single time we have tackled someone inside the 20 and we never get the benefit of holding calls so what is the point. That onside kick was good today.

Kickoff returns - no explosive returns the entire season. What about a reverse/fake reverse ... something. Anything.

We've been fairly decent on KRs (defending). We've had a fair amount that we've tackled within the 20.

Your concern about the punting is very valid. That's been a consistent theme throughout the season as Feagles has to be the worst punter I've ever seen.

I don't mind Berrios in terms of his calling fair catch on PRs. There's only a couple of instances where I felt he could've had a decent return. But when it comes to PRs, you want someone who's aware of where they're catching it and someone who makes the right decision.

KR, with the speed that JT has has been severely underwhelming to say the least. Some posters on here brought up the idea of bringing on a full-time ST coach with the 10th coaching hire. I'm starting to think that may be a good idea.

Berrios is sure-handed but we give up 30-50 yds a game by not even trying to return punts.

its an area that needs to be addressed in a big way, todays the type of game where good special teams couldve made a difference

We gave up 100+ yards of field position with a HORRIBLE 36.7 yd average and BB returning only one of six punts (for 19 yds BTW).

Our punting has been terrible this year and we bring in a new PK next year. My hope is they will be coached up by a full time ST coach.

Unfortunately for us we’re going to have to deal with a freshman kicker next year. At least we’ll be used to the struggles.

Hopefully Hartley is demoted to TE coach only.

We always joke that Hartley is the bagman

But his coaching of STs and anyone other than being blessed with Njoku and Herndon his TE group is bad

I say get a real offensive coordinator with the tenth coaching hire and have Banda coach special teams if he's capable.

Hartley is terrible. Our Returns and coverage have been abysmal the last two year. He really needs to be fired or demoted. We've been lucky so far but special teams is going to cost us a game or two if a change is not made.

Neg away if this makes no sense, but could Berrios be fair catching more so as a preventive measure to injury? All first teamers are repping ST’s, are they trying to mitigate further risk? None of it makes sense.

Could be better. He’s only a freshmans but JT has little feel for ko returns.BB fair catches too much. I hope Feagles gets exponentially better from frosh to soph year.

Michigan's freshman punt returner has more yards returning punts in just the 1Q of this game vs * than BB has had in the last 6 games.

BB would have fair caught every one of them.

1 for 12 vs BCC
0 returned vs Toledo
2 for 34 vs Duke
2 for 38 vs FSU
2 for 36 vs GT
1 for 12 vs Syracuse
1 for 15 vs UNC
0 returned vs VT
2 for 28 vs ND
0 returned vs UVA
1 for 19 vs Pitt

BB has been very effective WHEN HE ACTUALLY RETURNS THE PUNT but for some reason we seem to neither go for the block nor actually attempt to run back punts.

Feagles had 10 punts with 0 inside the 20. Very poor.

Our kick returns have been far below average compared to a regular Miami team.

We never go for blocks. Ever.

I'm not sure if Hartley has even played football. He sure doesn't look like a football player unless he was a punter for a year in junior HS.

We clearly do NOT have Miami special teams. Not last year either. We blocked a couple last year, but I don't think there were any plays to go for a block - just heady playing by Elder and whoever else got them last year. And the one Garvin got this year.

And did Hartley even offer a JUCO TE last year with as thin as everyone knew we were going to be at TE this year? I'm not aware of one being offered. And they probably won't offer one this year. Sure, we can count on a couple of freshmen and a couple of unproven returners to block when we need to block.

Thankfully, Badgley had a very good year.

Besides our kicker, our special teams have not been the least bit special.

This needs to change to compete for championships - national championships.

Special teams have been less than special. We’ve made no big plays other than Garvin’s blocked punt against UNC. Berrios is sure handed, and probably instructed not to ***** up. A few times he fair caught a punt and his body language told us he knew he should have tried a return.

We have so many first and second team players on ST because we have little overall depth. Look at how many true freshman we have starting or playing key roles.
