Not listed under coaches and I've checked and no one seems to know who? Urban Meyer always did ST's I wonder if Mario does? Our ST's return game has been subpar in the return game so I wonder id Mario is working to improve ST's.

Somewhat agree.
 
We had good field position, good punting, kicking, etc.

The reason why we didn't have good returns is because we didn't have an explosive return threat. I had the fortunate opportunity to watch Marcus Jones last year, and all of our players would get motion sickness trying to get him.

At this point, if we don't fumble the ball and make secure decisions catching punts, its a W.

IMO, the end of the kickoff return has made ST slightly less important than it used to be. And with kickers so much more advanced than years prior, chances are that your FG team will be better than years past, making the coaching element somewhat less important as well.

That said, a little concerned about punting. IMO, at this point, the punter is the most important ST player. Being able to flip the field is a true asset. We saw how Feagles' kid killed us repeatedly.
 
Believe it or not, Miami was actually the 2nd best team on kickoff returns and 30th on punts. There is certainly room for improvement on the punting side, but I don't think it is was as bad as most people thought.

I think the reason that people think Miami was so bad a due to a few things:

1) While the team ranks high/relatively high they have done that through consistency as opposed to breaking off long returns

2) We have been spoiled by players that were really good at it in years past

3) Return averages are down across all of college football. Through a combination of rules changes, analytics and kickers getting better (particularly punters), teams are not returning as much as they used. This article is a few years old now, but it shows how teams are not punting as much as they used to and receiving teams are fair catching much more than they used to.

Keyshawn Smith was actually a good kick returner and took a couple to house (maybe had one called back), gonna have to replace him with someone who can get the job done, we should have some explosive options

I didnt even realize it was this 'bad' (read low), but looking at the top 50 teams (b/c that is the first page of the results) teams only returned on average 1.333 punts per game. From a quick glance below, you can see there are some outliers (ex: Alabama, Louisiana, Southern Miss, Nebraska) but most teams were right around that 1 punt return per game mark
