7 below 500 teams, PSU at 500, 2 g5 10 winners, and 3 good teams.

We didn’t exactly play a murders row of above 500 teams.

Ohio State - they beat them by less than us. OSU led 3d quarter, missed FG to tie in 4th quarter.
Alabama - looked horrendous the last half of the season

added some context.

The “invincibility” reputation basically came from beating up an overrated Illinois (got crushed by a 4 win Wisconsin team near the end of the season), the worst Bama team in at least a decade, and a soft, poorly coached Oregon team twice.

I give them their laurels for beating Ohio St. only thing is we beat them by more.

And here’s something the talking heads (and some fans here on this site) can’t mentally process - IU played 3 opponents on their schedule that play a more physical style of football: Iowa, Penn St, and Ohio st. In 2 of those games- Iowa and PSU, IU was LOSING late in the 4th quarter. Ohio st would have been tied going into the 4th quarter if it kicked a 20 yd FG in the 3rd quarter instead of going for it. Then they would have been kicking a FG to win at the end instead of to tie it up.

If all 3 physical teams on IUs schedule were on the brink of beating them, whats going to happen when a more athletic and the most physical, hard hitting team in CFB plays them in its home stadium in the national championship game?

Great post.

Only thing that concerns me is our corners being situation in the first half.

I agree 100%. Miami plays it’s brand of football without penalty, we will see ring 6

Neither Indiana or Miami are world beaters. Both teams are great teams and the two best teams in the country.

Our common opponent is OSU, which is another great team. It was a hard fought battle in both those games. Feels like Miami beat OSU a little more convincingly, but can’t always take everything from a common opponent game.

This game is going to be a battle, but I feel the matchup is slightly advantageous to Miami due to our trenches. We do need to get healthy, especially in the secondary, or that could be a problem. Hopefully, we can win the appeal with the Lucas targeting.

Fair point. But we did in the playoffs. We had the tougher bracket. Indiana on the other hand played a Bama team that had no business being there. And an Oregon team that showed major flaws before the game, and then laid one of the biggest eggs you will ever see in the actual game.

Looks like ChatGPT made some errors on ODU and Kennesaw but those teams are still cupcakes.
I still don’t understand why people trust it so much and say “here’s what gpt/grok/AI says” as if it’s gospel.

It’s getting better but it’s trained on Reddit users. Have you ever been to reddit?
