Didn't we try to recruit that knock-kneed DT who eventually went to FSU from a small-town in South Georgia?

Sodom and Gommorah? If you're old enough to remember the notorious old Thomasville Fair (1960's) you know how hypocritical those southern Georgia folks are. Whole families would go to fair, together. The wives and probably daughters just smiled and looked the other way when the men excused themselves to head over to the tent with the nude dancing girls. I guess the women just wandered around continuing to look at hogs or canning stuff or whatever while the men enjoyed naked women. In those days, the dancing girls at those fairs showed more than the strip clubs in New Orleans, Florida, Atlanta, etc.

Miami is back winning now you'll start to see more of these country kids leave their comfort zone it shouldnt be that hard to sell them on living in coral gables for 3-4 years, if the city kids can be convinced to leave so can they. If they have pro aspirations you will be playing in a city anyway unless drafted by greenbay

What's "doubtful"? I went to Thomasville Fair in '68. I saw strip clubs in Orlando and New Orleans around that time. No full nudity, in fact, sometimes not even ****ies. Girls wore pasties with tassels in N.O. I think I was at a strip club I'm Atlanta in the '60's. Again, no nudity. It was g-strings and pasties. The only place I saw true complete nudity in the '60's was at Thomasville. Can you tell me where you could see that in mid-to-late '60's?

Didn't go again to strip clubs until maybe 1980. A law school classmate and her husband decided to stop off on way home from a night class. I had no objection. Pleasantly surprised. The girls looked good. Totally nude. Became a regular at the D.C. clubs for several years.

But in late '60's, never saw anything like the show in the tent in Thomasville. It was famous. And that was true Bible-belt. Remember walking by all these big hogs in pens. I'm not a farm guy so it was a different experience.

I tried to Google the fair. It changed it's name but nothing about the strip shows. I doubt they have them anymore. Feminists would throw (or probably threw) a fit to get them stopped. It was just amazing how whole families would be at the fair and they would have the strippers' tents.

I know that Miami is trying to recruit mostly local talent and some from Atlanta area. I want to try to raise awareness that they need to be focusing on South Georgia too . I watched a kid name chad mascoe from Thomasville Bulldogs friday night. This kid is 6 foot 185 and he’s only 14 ! Arm like a cannon and can run like a cheetah. FSU already has him on the radar . We also have teams like Colquit , lowndes , Valdosta , Tcchs , and many others . Region 1 from Georgia is loaded from top to bottom . Coach Richt and co needs to start picking from ole slick willies territory

Don't forget about those syrupmakers and Bainbridge.

It’s called the Deep South fair now . I haven’t seen any hoochie coochie tents , but did see a boxing kangaroo name Bob about 20 years ago . I wasn’t into the animal cruelty , but that show was hilarious. Bob wasn’t feeling it that night and they guy was trying to correct him aggressively. Ole Bob turned on the guy , leaned back on his tail , and booted that man clear out the ring ! It looked like a cartoon as the guys hands and feet were touching while he flew through the ropes out the ring . They don’t have stuff like that anymore. I think Cairo Syrupmakers is one of the best high school names out there

i say sit in the metro atlanta area and ...POACH. Thomas Brown, Richt, Simpson should be all over that in fact...we should be doing off campus camps in that area just how all these schools sit down here during the spring. Call up ***n Ga State and tell them we coming. ATL kids would definately come here.

There was a adidas camp in macon that all the adidas schools were at except us. For what ever reason richt doesn't like doing satellite camps.

Which is completely silly considering what takes place in our recruiting grounds...and considering he has a staff with 2 guys that are from that exact area. How the heck does he think OU has made some lee way in their south fla recruiting?. And he also had Temple and i forgot the other schools coaches at a camp i attended in june. Glad to see we still are recruiting kids from the area though. Richt has a prescence in GA...should use it to an advantage

I agree, we don't have to go to all the camps in every region like some other schools. Just hit the ones in Georgia and in the southeast. Hopefully somebody can talk him into doing them especially when teams are coming into your backyard to do them.

I would do the ATL area, Dallas FtWorth, and NEW ORLEANS.

In all 3 areas i would target positions Florida isnt to heavy on (qb, ol,te, DL). I mean it doesnt even cost that much either to do it like that. Split up the staff members like PATKE/Banda/Lil Richt to head the texas camps...Diaz/Dugans/Searles/ Rumph to New Orleans, Brown/Simpson/Mark Richt ATL.
Kind of tired of every one sitting down here and us not going back at them in any kind of way. I wouldnt waste to many funds on California.

Didn't know they were gypsies. One I kind if remember from 50 years ago didn't have that Gypsy look, though. Probably not that easy to find young southern women in that day to travel around in essentially a carnival and dance nude, though. There have been Gypsies in the South for years and they kind of live by different mores. (I'll use a sociological term to be more politically correct.)
