South Florida is one of the most attractive places to live and has beyond enough diversity to attract all sorts of people. How has this city allowed their sports to be so bad with putrid head coaching hires? This is the best we can do????

Dolphins - Joe Philbin
Heat - Erik Spoelstra
Marlins - Mike Redmond/Dan Jennings
Canes - Al Golden
Panthers - Gerard Gallant (decent job and not a hockey market)

Gerard Gallant makes up for all of the losers on that list. None of the other guys have a 10th of the grit and determination that Spuddy Gallant had as a player and now has.

Agree with everyone on your list with the exception of Spoelstra. He's no Flip Saunders, but he's not on the level as those other mouth breathers

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and my dream is to settle down in the South Florida area. I'm Puerto Rican. We're in South Florida can I find a large population of Puerto Ricans? I know about Kissimee, Florida but I believe that's Central Florida.

I think you're overvaluing "diversity". Most people who make 2million a year plus aren't looking to shack up in little haiti. The common denominator here is that SFL does not support it's teams unless they are winning (see the vanishing heat bandwagon).

agree with your last point as the town doesn't support unless winning but those that make 2 mil can gladly move to boca raton and can avoid cutler ridge or hialeah

Agreed, and those two area's i wouldn't exactly call "diverse". Diversity is actually a big reason why traditional american sports aren't that popular in miami. Orlando has a huge hispanic population and in Orlando City Soccers short stint here they've developed a huge following and their merch is sold everywhere. When Beckham builds that stadium soccer will be the #1 sport in miami bet that. When i was young and delivering paper goods to all the SFL restaurants in the summer almost every single cook had one of those 13" portable TV's playing soccer in the kitchen.
