I think this is a Miami team full of talent most of that South Florida kids. It just so happens 3 of the starters in the gator secondary are from Dade and Broward. When you get two teams from Florida playing one another it has a nuetralizing effect. Pride becomes the next factor. Rarely do you find this many players with speed on one playing field. So you can x and o all you want but this game is a different kind of animal.

tired of this sh*t about rivalry games..

"oh it's a rivalry game they're always close"

yah ask michigan about how close last years rivalry game with osu went. Ask florida state how close those games were when urban meyer was at florida.

while it certainly plays a certain role, well coached teams don't give a sh*t.

I think you missed the point. It's speed on speed. When two Florida schools play it is a neutralizer. Part of this does include pride. I really think your wrong not completey routs do happen. But most rivalry games are not runaways. Last time we killed them was 31 to 4 in 1987. Every other game since then was decided by a TD. FSU was rated preseason #1 came into the OB and got smacked.

It is straight BS that gets said around here like it is a fact. Just look at the last 10 games against UF. Most of them where not very close. Its like the posters only rivalry games they have ever seen were FSU vs Miami from 2014 to present.

Clearly you were asleep at the Sugar Bowl in 2000

The idea that we and UF have more speed than top 10 programs is just bunk. We haven’t had big time speed in ages. Richt noted it when he showed up. And hardly fixed it. Some of the DBs we lost to Alabama, UGA et al were faster than the ones we signed.

We are getting towards where we need to be, but let’s not delude ourselves.

I see your team speed and raise you with the #1 pass defense in the nation in yards against but more important efficieny, meaning not only were we not giving up yards, but ****'s couldnt complete **** either. If trajan bandy gets his hands on one like he did against notre shame, they not catching em. Itll be even more hype if our linebackers end up with a pick first and gets escorted in.

We got heat seeking missles in that secondary, led by coach rumph and coach banda!

This. We have not been a particularly fast team in the last several years.

I’m as hopeful as anyone, but last years stats were with a departed m Jackson, JJ and redwine, all nfl players - gone. That pass defense has to learn quickly.

The "Florida speed" thing is straight from the late 90's. Outside of UCF with MIlton and FSU's Jameis Winston run, the state of Florida has been pretty mediocre in college football for over a decade. Miami and Florida have looked no faster than Virginia and Kentucky.

Nope. 41-16 in 2003, and they beat us 26-3 in 2008

Most definitely,

Most definitely but we got the players that have the ability to either maintain or even surpass what the last crew did, we got more ballhawks back their now led by the leadership of trajan bandy, backed up by the supreme confident coaching by coach rumph. This year has that similar fill to me like when coach rumph, reed and buchanon left, all that happened was SEAN TAYLOR, mo sikes, jennings and rolle did was become the top secondary in the nation the next year. No matter what happens this first game, we got some guys in that secondary that's gone do work, and they head hunters for sure.

When you hearing how gurvan hall hasnt been taking "no false steps" for a coach to say that, im not sure if that has registered with the masses, but we got a new oc, and hall defending it in practice like it aint nothing, that's how you know he playing mostly on instincts and skills, the scheme is the perfect fit for em. The funny thing is, bolden is listed behind hall, Amari got knowles, keontra and i might be missing somebody. But all the talking is over now, its time to go and do this now:

FSU was pre season #1 in 88 and got smacked (was there)...even the 2001 Sugar Bowl against UF was a Beatdown both on the street and gridiron...
