Because the SEC is moving to 9 game in-conference schedule, you're going to see less & less SEC vs other Top P4 conference games.

Look at UGA's schedule this year, it's fuxkin disgusting.
 
Its not just South Carolina. Look at the entire league. A lot of cupcake OOC games and some teams even have games against FCS opponents late in the season, essentially adding an extra buy week in the middle of conference play. Its pathetic.
 
Unpopular opinion but I don’t blame them. Risk/reward says it’s just not worth it. 3 losses in the SEC maybe gets them in a playoff spot. Too much $ on the line.

I don’t think we particularly canceled it because we wanted a weaker schedule like the SEC does. We had too many OOC games scheduled and would’ve had to buyout central Michigan otherwise. Be courteous and just let them go, don’t wanna be the guy who forces arbitration for smth like this with an easy out.

I 100% agree. As much **** as I talk on them, it’s a gauntlet of a conference compared to the ACC. Why would you ever risk a OOC loss if you can maybe skate by into the playoffs with 3 conference losses. That’d be a huge event for Scar to make the CFP. Ideally imo conference games are capped at 7 so you got room and need power OOC games.
 
They canceled it because it would have been the closest game I could go to. An hour and a half from Charleston. I was so looking forward to that game. So mad it was canceled 😡
