South Beach Hurricane Flooding

I know South Beach has had bad flooding as of late with high tides and lunar shifts during the middle of the summer (Billy Corben has been ripping the city of Miami Beach for this), but how bad has it been during tropical storms and Cat 1s in the last few years? Will it shut down roads on South Beach all weekend?

What happens with hotels? Do they have a canoe shuttle to pick you up off the causway or do I have to get a duckboat tour?

Don't worry. If storm passes offshore, just drink a lot. If that Cat 4 turns left and comes straight in, well, back into a corner, squat down, put your head between your legs and kiss your ... well, just drink faster.

All you really need to know is that South Beach has some really old hotels.

getting ripped off if you're staying in sb. should've stayed at the stadium hotel and ubered to sb, would've had 5 hundred extra to spend on drinks...
