Looks like a lot of CIS posters can't get over the 1980s or the early 2000s. The game has changed. The gap between mid range teams and most top 25 teams is not very large.

This team was the same one that got it's **** pushed in by Whisky just 10 months ago. You act like Manny the magician would change all that with a poof. Yes he should have shut his mouth a bit but if he starts to win then you'll be shutting yours.

You act shocked that they could be so inept, undisciplined and bad on all fronts. You say this is the worst canes team ever. Last year was atrocious. It was worse than **** last year in which an interim coach was named. I believe the team has responded and is finally getting over the hump. It will be an up and down year however. We still don't have an elite or even close to elite QB. But we are working with what we have. In fact I believe our score differential in the acc is now 2 points through 3 games.

Manny was the substitute teacher. I think the hold outs are finally getting it and perhaps the coaches who were playing favorites are finally getting it. You guys think Manny is going to sit back like Richt or Al and just take it? Yeah right. You just saw the effect of him being challenged. He stepped up. Our D hasnt had a performance like that in two years (since Notre Dame). Yes I know it was UVA. But we feasted.

A lot here say we should blow teams out right and left. Perhaps we should. But you are being ignorant. We havent done that consistently for 20 years. You don't just turn around from the Pinstripe bowl debacle in a few months. Nesta was throwing his water bottle. Now he is chasing mother ****ers around with his belly in full flop.

Let's take it game by game. For now enjoy the win. Let the coaches do their jobs and improve further. I doubt anyone in that locker room is thinking 'yeah we got nothing to work on'.

Great post. Manny came in ****y, trying to be old school and I think he got the rude awakening. Lets hope the team improves, and that Manny keeps making the right moves.

This is a absolutely dead on take.

The Tell will be whether Manny is willing to fire people that he brought in.

Turnovers are down. That’s a bad sign. And the OL is STILL on training wheels. Pass blocking was awful last night.

What WAS different was the result: the Canes would have normally found a way to pi$$ the game away. But last night they put the knife into the Cavaliers and closed the Deal.

Nobody is expecting 80s Canes Or Early 2000s Canes OP

But we are expecting to beat Grandpa Mack and his true freshman QB coming off a 2-10 season.

We are also expecting to beat a Va Tech team coming off a 45-10 beatdown by Christian Laettner’s school.

It wouldn’t be too much to ask to NOT have to be sitting at home on a Saturday chewing our finger nails praying to the football gods for one last defensive stop against the fighting Chippewas of Central Michigan.

Take your sour grapes and shove em OP

Great post. It’s all about the expectations.

Trudat... they turned the ball over, missed field goal, got stuffed on 4th and 1 (Rousseau!). They were moving the ball well about 50% of their drives it seemed (haven’t watched replay). We did have some good stops, especially in the first half, to make them punt. But seemed every 3rd and long they were converting!

Don’t get me what though... I’ll definitely take the W. But this game didn’t make me go, “man, I think we can win out”. We still looked pretty week. The OL didn’t do any favors for Da Captain, but Perry didn’t impress me at all or give me that KrazyKane promise of our new QB savior!

GO CANES!
Josh

We feasted? They ran up and down the field on us. They converted like 90% of their 3rd and long. Did you see the stats? It was only due to their own ineptitude inside the red zone that we won.

Yep, it started becoming really evident before LSU last year; People saying we roll, talking about LSU being a dumpster fire and the game being a blow out. That said it all about how clueless a large number of so called fans who post here, are. Right, we roll gainst an SEC front 7 after the way we finished 2017.

Almost every game since you have the video gamers on here talk about blow outs. You'd think after 17 years they'd back off of the Glory Days highlight reels most never experienced. Most never played the real game (rather than Madden) or know how long it takes to build to that point, even if every move you made, was a good one. How about trying to win the **** ACC even ONCE before the expectations are being back where we once were.

we won because our defense made some plays and UVA played like at the end of the 3 games we lost.

we also blocked a kick. people keep saying it was a missed fg. it was a block

Dude blocked it with his ****. People are being figurative about "miss." Kicker missed hitting the ball right.

Pretty sure people would be fine with going 9-3 every year. But not 7-5 or 6-6.
In a coaches first year I would be okay with any of those numbers if something was being shown as improvements during the first year. The upward curve better start year two

Manny knows what made Miami great, but I think Manny didn't realize those teams didn't come in with swag and attitude and that's why they won. They punched people in the mouth and then they played with swag and attitude. Jimmy was ****ting bricks when we went out to Oklahoma in 1985. After that point is when he turned the kids loose.

i mean that argument can be made for numerous people.

Great post man that is what we have been missing for years, and we need to get that back.

All great recruiters! Mario's team at Oregon is physical, strong and super fast. He has a ton of true freshman playing, and if not for injuries to his starting wide receivers vs Auburn his team would be undefeated. All Mario did was use the JJ, Butch and Saban blue print.
