Sounds like we are getting an experienced DC

Fran Brown from Temple would be an excellent hire.

It’s important to remember Manny isn’t going to get every one of the rumored people out there, but the list he’s putting together is what is so encouraging to me.

The quality of staff he builds will be essential to his success. Most of the previous Miami staffs have been a list of Facebook friends for the HC. I want a team of individuals with strengths where one is weak and with the courage to challenge every idea before it becomes a decision.

Richt had a happy first week on the job as well, but thus far I’ve been impressed with the process Manny is employing.
Fran blew him away in the interview , so much that he called him and offered him the same job at a bigger program.

Your hilariously bad takes never seem to amaze me

So mighty Maryland and Purdue were too hard of a schedule for Ohio State is what you're saying? They both dropped 50 on OSU this year and Ohio State has arguably the most talent in the country

Look what Mighty Boston College and Wisconsin did to us.

****, we knew they were going to run and we still couldn't stop it.

Through his choices thus far, it seems that he does only care about results, I said what I said about the 3-4 because it wouldn’t bring immediate results, and through Manny’s press conferences he keeps hinting towards quick turnarounds on offense. So he wants quick results. He just wants someone defensively that shares the same philosophies as him so he can trust them with the play calls and he can manage the game like the head coach is supposed fo

Many people think Manny runs this unique scheme. Well, he doesn't. He may call it something different, but it's nothing new. So he calls a position the Striker. That is nothing new. That is simply nickel or big nickel depending on if you are using a safety or a cornerback. Nothing new.

"The quality of staff he builds will be essential to his success." True for most coaches but even more so for Manny.. If we are completely honest no other P5 program of Miami status is hiring Manny Diaz as head coach. He was a struggling defensive coordinator at La Tech 3 years ago and now HC at Miami. He has to get it right on staff cause if he doesn't this might be his only shot as a HC.

Yeap. If you can’t make it at Miami you are done as HC. I’m not happy he thinks HIS staff doesn’t need to be improved. First sign of “my way is perfect”. Hope he get better DC than he was also. That would be good sign of being HC material.

Fran isn’t making that big of a jump...that would require either Rumph or Banda not being retained being that they’re DB coaches.

I get that. He simply runs an aggressive 4-3, nothing crazy. And yes he implemented the striker. But like you said it’s nothing new, just a new name, the striker is like a hybrid safety/LB, which is what we see in the NFL a lot. All I was saying is he probably doesn’t want scheme change due to it most likely not yeilding immediate results.

He’s probably going to get a LB coach from a aggressive 4-3 D to be the CO-DC with him or just a straight up LB coach.

Manny said the core of the defense is in place. He is making one more hire. He thinks those current guys will be good play callers ONE DAY.

FANTASTIC......

Dude, you're such a freakin' TURN COAT and what not. First you CRITICIZE the defense. Now you're back on the Orange and Green bandwagon, again. Go figure.

Mr. Onion Head for Miami's next DC. He has the perfect resume and will put all his heart and effort into keeping Miami a Top 10 defense. Or better.

So would this mean Banda will coach LBs? Fran is one of the best DB coaches in the country so I would bet he would want either CB or S...

I wish you had this same honesty when Richt was the HC. Regardless, I don't think he struggled at LA Tech if I'm remembering the stats correctly. However (I can't believe I'm saying this), I agree with essentially the rest of your points.
