Sorry to ruin everyone's day: Ereck Flowers

I think you roll with Feliciano at LT considering Darling had been the backup at RT before this happened.

Mongo has experience playing on the left side of the line at least.

Jesus what a mess.

They'll be fine whoever they plug in. OL is the one unit I'm confident about and its not like Flowers was some world beater this year either. He was a decent LT.

Hope so...Flowers is elite and there's not a better Oline player on the UM roster.

Good thing is UNC is the worst defense in college football, so we should be able to see which group works best together without a problem.

The good thing is that we can depend on my top-15 defense to bail the offense out...

I'd expect Darling at LT. While Feliciano may be the sensible choice because of experience and I think he's an NFL player (at Guard) who admirably chips in at RT, I don't think you put him so out of place that it lowers the overall line's effectiveness. We're better off with a strong right side of the line than a shoddy line throughout.

The question, if Darling is placed at LT, will be just how weak at the point of attack we'll be at LT/LG. Two True Frosh! Better get those guys in space immediately.

A la Brandon Washington

We are the "U"! Why all of the negative energy fellas? Next man up! C'mon now! Can anybody on this board say that they knew little Linder was gonna step in a be a beast right away? None of us knew he would step up like he has.

There's positive energy with the team now and they're starting to turn the corner. I say they rally and use this as another chip on their shoulders to continue the momentum they have going and rally around the next man up. I think Kehoe will have the O-line ready! GO CANES!!!

"Next man up" could includes Feliciano to LT, Darling or Odogwu to RT. Coley adds Joe Brown could see time as well.

Joe Brown, you gotta be kidding

Unbelievable. How are our backups not in towards the end of the game!? He's our BEST Olinemen and we were already thin at tackle. This staff is just idiotic when it comes to in game decisions and reasoning.

Gotta be Swasey's fault!! J/k

Actually, some of the injuries suffered by U players are his fault. If the U had a professional accredited strength and conditioning coach and the program that would be commensurate with said competent individual, instead of a clueless hack, perhaps the U wouldn't be so "cursed."

Swasey is and has been the cancer killing the U... Fat Al is just a recent infection...

The term “when it rains, it pours” is coming to line down at Coral Gables regarding the offensive line. Coming after a dominating performance against Virginia Tech, the Miami Hurricanes have suffered yet another setback. This time it’s the loss of possibly their best offensive lineman, Ereck Flowers. The Miami Herald reported that Flowers will miss at least one game this season and could possibly miss the rest of the season if the injury doesn’t heal properly. Coach James Coley later confirmed the Miami Herald report.

Losing Flowers is huge not only because of pure talent, but because of the lack of depth at the position.

Just yesterday Al Golden ruled out Kc McDermott for the rest of the season and two weeks ago, Taylor Gadbois was ruled out, too. That’s now three offensive tackles that Miami has lost. And when you put the Malcolm Bunche transfer, and the surprisingly flip to Stanford (which he already left the program there) of Reilly Gibbons, you could say Miami has lost 5 tackles in a span of 8 months. That’s nobodies fault, but it’s a lot of bodies.

With all the injuries, the mixing and matching will start for Miami. Jon Feliciano, who has been great at right tackle since the lost of Gadbois, will probably shift over all the way across the line to the left tackle spot. True freshman Trevor Darling will take over the right tackle spot and that would give the Hurricanes two true freshman starters at the offensive line. Nick Linder being the other starter.

It’s not an ideal situation but the Canes will have to go at it with what they have and make a push towards an ACC Championship game appearance this season. Flowers could very possibly be back this season maybe after the bye (being really optimistic) but it could also be a season-ending injury and the Miami Hurricanes need to be ready for what ever comes.

Flowers has started every game this season for Miami.

First things first, though, and that’s to hope for a quick recovery from big man Ereck Flowers.
