Remember in his first two years, Golden would run up and down the sideline, he would chest-bump guys after big plays, he was full of emotion. Now he looks miserable on the sideline. Dude doesn't want to be here.

One of the most humbling things for a coach is when you think you know what you're doing, and then your way just doesn't work at the next stop. Think about the college guys who failed in the NFL. None of them went in expecting anything other than more success. And then it hits you: I'm not winning anymore, and I can't figure out how to fix it. I think that's where Golden is right now.

And your observation is good. Golden does look miserable. My fear is he is miserable enough to do something competent and save his job. Then we get year after year of 9 wins, and Tommy Bowden part II. That guy had incredible talent, and won . . . nothing for a decade.

I hope Al stays miserable, all the way to 5-7 and a couple DUIs and gets fired so we can get a coach.

i agreee. i said over the winter he had to go after the penn st fiasco. it was clear he was passed over not that he turned it down.

I think Al is great for turnaround projects. Just fits him well. I think he has nothing but the bests intent for the young men under his supervision.

But I don't think he knows, as a coach, how to take a talented roster and get them to compete at a championship level.

Not a knock on him as a person.

I just don't think he has that killer instinct and the desire to win at the highest levels.

have no fear. there is no chance of that happening. this con man is LOST in terms of actually coaching football. why the **** would he all of a suddenly figure out how to coach now?

Agreed. In the post game presser his head was hanging low. The jig is up. It being this early in the season you wonder what the AD will do to turn this around. Outside consultant? You never know, but the writing is on the wall.
