Something is telling me these kids got a chip on their shoulder

I agree the chip is there. My concern is the three-month focus to negotiate the ACC's terrain. Are they mature enough to correct that year one under Diaz?

For whatever reason, since joining the ACC—Miami finds a way to drop a handful of conference games every year, sans 2017.

Had a great shot to win the Coastal in 2005 after losing to Florida State in the opener. Dropped that inexplicable home game to Georgia Tech at the Orange Bowl, 14-10—weeks after upsetting #3 VirginiaTech in Blacksburg.

Seems to be a storyline like that every year—losing to a Virginia, a Virginia Tech, a North Carolina, a Duke, etc.

Virginia is a pretty good squad this year. Would think they're a 6-2 team in conference this year. Need to beat the Cavaliers and Hokies head to head.

Florida State in early November will be a huge test as there's a good chance these kids are a one-loss team going into that game, with the Noles circling that and Florida as season-ruiner games for both in-state rivals.

Garvin didn't look happy either. And he basically confirmed what i said i saw during the game about him having to spy a lot. So yall can stop shîtting on him for not getting 100 sacks.

Painful questions during that interview.

Hard to question their desire as Diaz and staff have done well to make them confident again. But we're 8-10 since beating ND. It's going to take strong leadership to make this season a success. I get the sense that we'll finish the season strong but may take a couple more lumps along the way. Finishing the season on a high note like 1999 is more likely than running the table like we did after UW in 2000 imo.
