Someone smarter than me needs to explain

It’s starting to give me Gattis vibes. And I hate it.
Some say gattis, some say Dawson.. hmm common denominator.. hmm, let's think about it..

Mind u I have no issue wit it but I would like to see a lil variety in run game but it is what it is.. offense still does well overall but if being nitpicky leaning on duo Soo much

At the very least, steal that toss to the rb that VT used to gash us all night long last night. I mean, how hard would that be to implement?

Seriously. Carpenter probably has to use Tucks medicated hemorrhoid pads for the next week to get relief after all the runs up his butt hole last night. A little variety would be greatly appreciated

Someone tell me why Ajay has limited touches, please
Because he goes off script. When his improvising works, it's a nice 20 yard gain. When it doesn't, he's caught for a 1 yard loss. He doesn't have great vision.

The, between the guards, running game has no creativity whatsoever.

Get your crap in sock Mario/Dawson

I’d need to go rewatch some Oregon games but I don’t remember picking up on them doing this there so obviously.

Without getting into the nitty gritty of it, we run tight splits. This takes away lanes for blitzes, tightening down on the D Line formation. On the contrary it also limits lanes for our ball carriers. There is no room for patience in our RBs, they need to get downhill in a hurry. Damien Martinez for example is a really bad fit for the way we run the ball.

With the tight splits there is a lot more room for our quick hitting plays on the boundary creating mismatches/numbers advantage out there.

This is the nature of our scheme and not to burst anyone’s bubble, the run game isn’t going to change..it is what it is.

Last note, this is why we see a lot of success when getting our guys in space because it’s our WRs blocking with their DBs in space. I would like to see more Jet Sweeps and Rocket Sweeps as we have seen success there with CJ24.

We scored 38 points with three turnovers including turning the ball over in the red zone.
Yeah, I agree we still put up points and did so when it mattered most. But it would be nice to have the ability to lean on a solid run game when Cam is having an off night.
He definitely needed it last night but they couldn't do it.

Again, always start with - what the **** do I know - but, I'm getting RB vibes to a time long past.

In 2000, I remember watching the Canes play Washington and our running game getting bottled up when our starters were in (I think it was JJ at the time...and comparing today to Fletch and Martinez) but when a smaller back with a little more wiggle and burst (Clinton Portis) was getting carries, the running game looked explosive.

Look, I'm not saying AA is Portis, and I'm smart enough to assume he may be a bit of a liability in pass protection, but I would have really liked to have seen him last night. Martinez did not play poorly, but we needed more and understanding there are limited touches, please shift a few to AA.

Also, all of this could be void if AA was out - he took a big shot last week and could be under protocol...but regardless, point stands.

Because he goes on his own a lot which works well sometimes and horrible on other times and either is a loss or causes a holding penalty.
The main issue is that he is very poor in pass protection and picking up the blitz or reading and assisting an Oline man that needs a chip to give Cam an extra second.
I like what he brings to the game when the ball is in his hands, but it should be obvious to all that protecting Cam is by far the number one concern, so he has to sit on the bench behind three other RBs that are far superior to him in that aspect of the game. And this is not directed at you, but the fans that are crying and pouting about his lack of touches can kiss my a$$ because he can't block well and makes me a nervous wreck when he is out there and that's how sports go.
He needs to transfer to SMU next year and not because I hate him, just he won't improve in that area and just won't play much and its justified. He can get more PT elsewhere and be happier and that's what I would like to see for him.
