Someone knows. What was the REAL reason FIU let Mario go?

They figured out that what Mario says is in fact true. “How you do anything is how you do everything.” We’re seeing how Mario does anything and everything. But you gotta give him credit, he is indeed a good salesman. I will be shocked if we win another game this year.

Pete García is an absolute moron, and that decision was widely seen as a bad call. Nothing else to it. When you take over a program that’s never won more than three games in a season, and had only played for two seasons prior, there’s gonna be struggles.

Mario did a decent job there, learned a lot at Alabama, and did a good job at Oregon. He either does better here, or he’s our version or Scott Frost.

I’ve heard rumors but someone here has to know the real story. So what happened?
Pete Garcia was the AD and a real ego maniac ... wanted to run every facet of the football program and wanted Mario gone. He succeeded and then was fired himself. To his credit Mario took a program that was 0-12 the season before he took over and won his conference 4 years later. Hired excellent assistants that went on to have very good careers at bigger programs.
