Blu is a nice guy and an oldhead but dude out there yesterday instantly offering public condolences about the death of one of the robbers/shooters/hostage takers.

To be fair, the Herald originally reported he was a bystander.

That’s probably what Larry was going off.

Did the Herald have that info (albeit the incorrect info) out by 9pm yesterday and make the connection to Corey Smith? If so, then it's obviously not as egregious but it also seems like Blustein goes off of gossip and local "sauces" too a lot as he's "reported" on shooting victims when they're local high school kids before the local media says any details.

I heard people where I have breakfast mentioning that erroneous report earlier in the morning.

Blu's post was like 3 1/2 hours after the shooting though at 9pm last night. And he wouldn't respond to anyone asking if he was talking about the innocent bystander.

To clarify too- I don't even begrudge anyone offering condolences to an innocent party in this like Corey Smith. Ya just gotta do it privately.

At the end of the day, somebody larry knows took a lost, that's not hard to understand. No matter how it went down, you got family members hurting on all sides. Let's be idiots and be real on here, the police phucked all the way up, the way that UPS driver got gunned down, the way they engaged the truck in traffic like that after already knowing shots were being fired out the gate. No real road blocks and being cowards hiding behind cars wuth innocent bystanders in em. Whoever gave the order to engage needs the same treatment the UPS driver got. Im surprised its being reported only 5 people got shot, but we know it was 4 at the scene and the lady at the store that got robbed.

I pretty much agreed with everything you said about how the police handled or mishandled this in my comments in the other thread that got shut down.

Even if Ol' Blu is besties with Corey Smith it's still a bad look to go public with your first condolences being about a guy that was willing to kill innocent people yesterday and whose actions (disirregardless of police idiocy) led to the death of a young UPS driver with two young daughters who was just filling in for another driver that called in sick and an innocent bystander sitting in his car at an intersection.

Call or text Coach Smith privately.

That's politicking, nothing wrong with supporting somebody he respects, im not sure how you read what blu said as anything other than what it was, in the famous words of djt that got blown way out of proportion "you had fine people on both sides". So blu did nothing wrong and hopefully the overractors will actually read and comprehend what he wrote and not overract, its not the Brother's fault!

It sucks for decent people who have relatives who do stupid **** that makes the papers.

There's gonna be a whole lot of investigation and debate over how those cops acted. They were demonstrably a bigger threat to the public than the criminals.

When innocent people died because if a high speed chase, the FHP changed its policy to protect the public. Maybe this will prompt a similar change.

I have a friend in LA that is a connoisseur of California police chases (don't ask me why). He was watching this one live and couldn't believe how the cops handled it at the end let alone how many cops were all there on Miramar Parkway.

The Miramar poliece station is less than 5 mins away....there isnt much crime taking place in West Miramar...they aint got nothing to do

Truth. I used to live in Huntington next to 75 off of Miramar Parkway a while back. Miramar cops would show up like 4 cars deep to bust teenagers smoking weed in their garage. They probably had no place being actively involved in this situation.

Funniest **** ever though is a young Miramar cop used to live across the street from me too. He never left his house on the weekend without a to-go beer or drink before he jumped behind the wheel of his truck.
