Someone at ESPN is getting fired for showing this

No they’re not; it allows for great content & talking points. The more u guys know what goes on behind the scenes, the more u’ll know things r intentional to drive ratings. ESPN has become the soap opera of sports media. My little cousin is one of the NBA Countdown producers, & he’s also in charge of talent acquisition.

His job is to create eyeball worthy content to drive ratings. It’s no different than Nick Wright being the biggest LBJ Stan which propelled him to heights in his career he never imagined. He realized clicks matter, & what drives clicks is controversy. His private tweets says something different on he felt was The GOAT & y b4 he became an on air shock-jock like sports host.

This was intentional; & the nation will be tuned in to CFP selection Tuesday hosted by…ESPN
Once the sports world saw how they could piggyback off shock talk radio hosts like Howard Stern back in the day, it was a wrap for the old school objective based reporting. It’s all about ratings and clicks.

I don’t think there’s any reason to expand the number of teams. There’s already going to be at least three or four teams who have no chance. They need to scrap the auto bids for teams that aren’t in the top 12. What’s the point in even having a top 12 if at least two teams not in it are going to make the playoffs? They also discourage scheduling games against non conference power teams. Why? Just schedule nothing but cupcakes ooc and focus solely on winning the conference games you’re forced to play. They’re the only games that matter now.

They. Don't. Give. A. ****.

The CFP will be (at a minimum) 24 teams within the next 2-3 years.

Be a lot less fussin about which 8-4 borderline Top 25 team is left at home
True that. And with direct payments to players coming up, this whole thing is going to look vastly different.

Bingo
I’ve been saying for 25 years it should be a 16 team playoff because once you get to three lost teams, they really don’t have an argument and no one with a three lost team is probably gonna run the table
24 is even better because then we’re guaranteed to have it decided on the field 100%

Compare the amount of backlash the committee will get when choosing either ND or Miami….

they will receive a ton of backlash for putting ND over Miami due to H2H

on the flip side they wouldn’t receive hardly any for putting Miami in over ND bc they can cite H2H

Makes the decision pretty obvious but this is exposing the bias and level of BS involved.
I agree completely with the logic in what you're saying except one part. The backlash would be astronomical if they put us in ahead of nd because and is a complete cash cow. They have media giants literally tied into their outcome. Us we are small fish in that same pond. That's ultimately gonna be what most likely ***** us. But again can't blame no one but ourselves that we in this spot

It’s like Marciante said yesterday on the OBB, the committee is made up of people whose racist dads and kkk granddads told them bedtime stories of how a team with black thugs from Miami ruined college football in the 80s and 90s.
I can’t do the racist thing. Not on this. Not in 2025. Not because racism is dead (it’s not). Because literally all the teams have similar racial composition. Real reason? SEC is driving the bus and ND historically gets better ratings. Period.
Oh and the B1G.

Respectfully, you’re dead wrong
The politics then gets minimized because all of the good teams get in and they’re preferential treatment can only go as far as seeding
But at the end of the day, all of the teams that can win are in the tournament
Right now, you can make an argument that there will be at least three or four or five teams that could win at all that aren’t getting that opportunity and you’re letting humans that have biases make the call

And they will Always choose a great 8 team over a non great 8 program
As we are going to see

Just imagine if we all looked at all of politics and entertainment like this.

Anyone saying “put pressure on the committee” is on hopium.

The only pressure the committee cares about is how much psi their pockets can hold with all that sec and BIG money.

The acc is a laughing stock with their rules. The entire acc is damm slush fund to promote their basketball schools and the way they’ve refereed Miami games over the past 20 years proves it.
If they had any balls or integrity they wouldn’t allow a 7-5 team to represent them in their conference championship.
And if the cfb committee really cared about the 10 best teams then Miami would be in.

I’m praying for many Diaz and for Mensah to internalize all the football god’s qb powers and beat Virginia. That way the committee and the acc both look stupid for their dumbahhss rules because a 7-5 team will be in the playoffs and get the lowest ratings ever for a playoff game and the sht will be over after the first drive.

This is the committee’s chance to do the right thing. Everything is corrupt and it come down to $$$$. I don’t care what anyone says Brown let his bro beat up on his defense for the “style” points. Such a sham.

it’s not about racial composition. It’s about reputation. When there is a pattern of one team consistently getting screwed by refs over a 30+ year period there is more than just ratings involved.

Take for example, the 2017 Canes led by pillar of the community Mark Richt, no holding called on opposing OL for almost the entire season. Coincidence?

You think the ncaa witch-hunt back in the Shapiro days was just the ncaa doing its job? The ncaa ultimately had to abandon the almost decade long investigation (which crippled recruiting). because it was so eager to kill UM football it broke countless rules.

Again, just a coincidence?

I replied that I’m not doing the racist explanation when you wrote the following:

“the committee is made up of people whose racist dads and kkk granddads told them bedtime stories of how a team with black thugs from Miami ruined college football in the 80s and 90s.”

Aside from the first sentence and a half, nothing else you wrote has much, if anything, to do with racist dads and kkk granddads. Had you stopped after the second sentence fragment, I likely would’ve given your comment a thumbs up. Instead I don’t know what in the actual fucc you’re trying to communicate other than you’re trying to explain away what’s happening - which is we are getting fucced by the committee (and it’s at least in part our own fault).

There’s a bit more parity now than there has been in college football in a long time but there’s at least three teams who will likely make the field that have no shot of winning a game let alone the title. Whoever wins the ACC and whoever wins the G5 might as well be bye opponents in the first round. Oklahoma is likely in also and the only way they win a playoff game is if they draw one of the previous other two teams I mentioned.

I prefer the 12 team format to the 4 team one but just look at the first two rounds last year. A majority of those games weren’t competitive. Boise got a first round bye and then got obliterated by Penn State. I hope this year’s tournament is more competitive but there’s likely going to be at least a handful of blowout type games

Believe what you want. It’s all on the up and up. Ok.

i am paraphrasing Roman Marciante from the OBB postgame show yesterday. Go take it up with him.

Easiest thing would be leave out bama because their offense looks like **** and they lost to fsu, but I'm expecting another pop tarts bowl for us sadly
