Someone asked me today "Do You Think They Have a Chance?"

It's almost like people are being baited into betting the house on Indiana.
Sportsbooks have some really bad positions on the Canes due to some aggressive futures betting (see @Peachycarnahan). The house is going to get it in the *** if Miami wins. Maybe there's some value in offsetting that by getting heavy, greedy action on IU plus the points.

It's funny, because at the beginning of the playoffs, Indiana was thought to be one of the most overrated teams by many fans and pundits. Nobody was giving them respect. I knew they would whip Bama, but I thought the winner of Oregon/Texas Tech would give them a challenge. Most media folks and people in general were picking Bama to whip them. I don't think anybody had Indiana coming out as the winner in their side of the bracket.

They beat a sorry *** Bama team and a good Oregon team with tons of flaws/holes and now they are invincible. Best team ever. Better than 2001 Miami and 2019 LSU. We are lucky to be on the same field as them. Woe is Miami. Can't wait until we get up 14-0 and just turn the game into a slug fest.
Indiana's grown *** man of a DB picked off Moore for the pick 6 and got into a 20 year old's mind. After that it was self inflicted wounds like fumbling the ball because you hit your RB while trying to throw.

I think our line brings a lot more pressure. Cig is a great coach and will have his guys in a good mind-space, but if we get out to an early lead and bring the pressure I can see us getting in their heads.

Indiana does not want a physical slug match.

I don't think any team has wanted a physical game against us. The problem is we make that unavoidable.

You haven’t heard? We’re awful, terrible, **** we don’t even deserve to be there. According to Ohio St. they’d beat us nine out of ten times.

Meanwhile, here’s a live look in on Mario:

Somebody asked me the same thing and I just said "no".

They nodded in agreement and then after a second they looked at me confused and said "wait. Who do you mean? Miami or Indiana?"

Then I just gave them the Michael Jordan shrug and said "you tell me".

They think they do. They think they will out physically play us. And be more aggressive than us. What they are about to find is the most important missing component to their plan,.. Violence. It’s our trademark and we will stamp that S**t all over their Fking faces. Mike Tyson said it,.. “ everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face”. Come out Swinging Boys. GO CANES🙌🏽

Gosh this makes me wish I could find the OSU fan I sat next to at a bar before that game. He told me “You know if your QB plays like he did against Louisville you all will lose.” No sh.t dude. Sometimes people need to just zip it.

Rick Neuheisel and some dude named Chris Childers have a show on Sirius, and they spent most of the show talking about how great it is that Indiana is going to win the National Championship. Finally Neuheisel felt the need to say that Miami won’t go down without a fight, and Childers started laughing. He says IU will run up the score.

Everybody outside of canes fans thinks we’re losing and I love it. A guy in my office told me he’s rooting for Indiana because it’s a good Cinderella story and because Mendoza seems like a really nice guy.

I looked him dead on and said yeah, I hope we take his head off.

We were kept below bama and ND wrongly. We weren’t even going to be here if Duke doesn’t upset UVA but somehow this unbeaten B10 school with a Heisman qb and the largest alumni base in the country is Cinderella.

I make about 25K if Miami wins via some national championship bets at the start of the season

I live in Miami, everyone thinks we’re going to win
For once we might be right. What others have said here is very true. The 2019 LSU comparisons are absolutely laughable. No one ever came close to outscoring that team. Mendozas numbers dwarf Burrow. LSU was never a play away from losing to a team like Iowa, PSU, even Ohio State. Just no.

I respect Indiana. This will be a close game regardless. Run up the score against us? LOL. When was the last time a team ran up the score against us? You’d have to go back to 2022. To think that’s going to happen against a more physical and talented opponent on their own turf almost seems like trolling. Alabama had no business playing in this CFP. It’s cute Indiana beat then so badly. Oregon had a nice year and had a solid showing against TTU. But my God Dante Moore scored more points for Indiana than he did for Oregon with just embarrassing play. First throw is forced into triple coverage for a pick 6. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen with us despite some Beck moments. If we’re running the ball and pushing piles 8 yards after contact like we’ve done to every respectable defense in CFB this year, we won’t need Beck to force throws in triple coverage

Sober Indiana fans before the Rose Bowl (let alone Peach Bowl) spoke about the prospect of a Miami team that handled Ohio getting out of that bracket in hushed tones.

Cignetti, Haines, and Shanahan know this will be a war.
