Somehow...

This felt like the GT game but we won.

Turnovers and penalties prevented us from seizing the game early.

The defense isn't good. We couldn't stop basic run plays. Our tackling and angle to the ball is just flat out atrocious

Our RB room is mediocre. Martinez lacks vision and doesn't play like a 230. Fletcher is stiff and slow.

If we had a Mark Walton or even a Travis homer type of explosive back we'd be more balanced. **** If we kept brashard smith at RB we would be a better run team. He is killing it at SMU.

The defense was absolutely pitiful all around. Looked slow. Tackled horribly. Porter is not a Nickel corner. Just terrible game plan, execution and effort on defense.
Our Secondary is mediocre at best. Of course we all expected that at the start of the season.

It’s the TO’s. That was Ward’s issue coming into the season.
But the fumble and first INT were bad plays by Ward. He’s aggressive but needs more easy options.

We have to hope that he just had a bad day, and that Dawson will push a more balanced attack.
Once he realised that they were dropping everyone into coverage and he could scramble for a first down almost at will he settled down.

Before that he appeared to be really confused by their coverages - most of the sacks he took were coverage sacks.

I agree. We have a 14 point lead like we easily could have/should have, and is VTech being so run dominant? Probably not. They likely are trying to play catch up with us all game, and a step or two behind. Clearly if we are going against a balanced offensive attack, Our Defense isn't holding up. But if we can make them one dimensional because of our Offensive firepower, that is how we can get a lot of stops imo... So these turnovers have a gigantic impact.

I mean -2 in turnover margin and they averaged almost 7ypc. That's a "padlock stat" where you tell me that and I'd telling you they're probably winning the game..

To win a game when down -2 in TO’s is really hard to do. UM had to work a lot harder to score its points. Hence the additional 110 yards on offense needed to win.
Both teams scored on 6 drives
5 TD’s and 1 FG Cx 4 TD’s and 2 Fgs.

With kickers hitting 55+ yard FG’s. Amazing we won.

I am not on the Cam sucked bandwagon, but the reason X slipped on that play is b/c Cam threw it behind X and he was trying to stop his momentum and reach back behind him.

I’m totally convinced 80% of this board doesn’t watch the games. This couldn’t be more wrong if you said Restrepo spontaneously combusted on the field, his dustbody was captured into an urn by Elvis and cam held the football out and his it with his **** like a fungo bat and it flew into the top of the urn and stuck in it like a wedgie in a basketball game.

And with that, it’s bedtime. We played ****** ball overall, and won. Good teams do that. 5-0 is 5-0. Go Canes.

Our OL sucked...
Our running game sucked...

it’s not easy for a RB when UM has the OL so close together. It would be trying to run full speed between 2 F-350s parked side by side in "compact cars only” parking spaces. I wonder why the splits are the way they are.

500 yards, Cam with two silly turnovers that gave them life. But a massive 4th quarter.

a bunch of guys got hurt but we didn’t tackle well.

Vtech had a good game plan but we def did somethings to give them life.

I think after 5 games the only thing we know and most were saying if since June is our secondary is not great and it needs the front 7 to perform so they aren’t asked to do to much.

If Vtech builds off this they should finish 8-4.
I've got them at 8-4. If this Tech team shows up they'll nearly win out.

Very interesting game they've got against Clemson in Blacksburg...

Our OL sucked...
Our running game sucked...
Cam sucked...
D sucked....
LB, C and SF SUCKED at tackling

We still won. Somehow. It's a bittersweet victory. We ain't making it through the ACC with 'gunslinger' Cam and the D we saw tonight.
Yup and simply put, about time a call went Miamis way. 5-0

The fact we allowed VT to have 6 scoring drives, and needed a Malik Bryant game changing play to stop a 7th, is my biggest concern. Outside of their RB who is a warrior, that O, especially that OL, should not have been able to do what it did to us.

#25 failed to breakup a pass the entire game, our edge defenders failed to force the ball carrier back inside, Alston failed as a spy (hope he's okay!), Kiko and Meesh failed to tackle and often failed to diagnose plays. Lots to work on. Woof.

We faced an acc pass rush tonight and Ward looked like WSU Ward...

You're asking for sensibility from mostly drunken idiots who don't know what they're watching. The only way for them to digest nuance is through over-simplification.

Just let them vent.
Lol naw you're right. I knew better than to partake. No excuses.

We lost at home to this VT outside a crazy *** reversal. Bottoms up.
