How in the **** can our WR room look THIS bad while we enjoy proximity to one of the richest hotbeds of receiver talent in the entire country? Yes, teams like Bama and Georgia typically swoop in and sign the best of the best, but there's still so many guys from down here (like Elijah Moore) who leave the area and ball out. Many of them never even receive offers. I just don't understand how our hit rate can be this low on receivers from down here.

We have multiple 4-star S. Florida-based talents on the roster who many other teams around the country would gladly take and mold into serviceable, productive players, but we can't seem to do anything with them here. You don't think Lane Kiffin would have Jacolby George or Brinson in position to make plays? Key Smith may have come from out of state but he definitely has some raw talent to work with -- all of these guys do. We have to find a way to extract more productivity out of this group!

sad thing is Gattis did nothing this game to help make elite WRs want to come here…outside of the die hard Cane guys like Ray Ray.

Honestly ever since Ahmmon got hurt we have not been able to find a true WR 1 from south Florida. Our best WRs have been from the transfer portal. It has been beyond frustrating. An that has to change.

We are asking guys who play 7 v 7 to get open with superior route running techniques with limited spacing and then make contested catches. Not what they excel at. That said we also had some guys open and also had Rosier at QB at times as well. All parties were meh

Its all about marketing. What I saw last night was an offense that had all of the parts and pieces .... except an elite wide receiver. Sell THAT to a five star looking for immediate playing time.

The OC, TVD and the wr’s. All can be true.
Gattis is the common denominator. IMO, forcing a non spread scheme on a spread QB. Running non-tempo w a QB who excelled w high tempo. Who’s the Wr coach? As Mario would say these are results of processes…what and whose processes are they? Not saying Gattis won’t light it up down the road, but to me this was his Offense coming out party and it reminded me (right or wrong) Of Dan Enos offense. Taking all day during 4 min and 2 minute offense. Scoring issues…thought all that was resolved last two years and feels like we’ve regressed 3 years.

THIS. It seems like we have factions of our fanbase who want to blame either the receivers, QB, or scheme, but these things are NOT mutually exclusive. I don't think that Gattis' scheme is inherently flawed but I also don't believe he spent enough time adapting it to TVD's strengths and that his RZ playcalling last night was abysmal. That said, TVD and the receivers didn't make nearly enough plays either and all of these groups deserve at least some of the blame. It's just a shame that we finally have a competent OL yet it's not translating into more points.
