Some Week O thoughts...

i would love for the canes to play next year week 0 in Dublin. for all of us gameday drunks, there is no better place in the world than dublin for bar hopping. irish pub people are the absolute friendliest. when you go up to the bar in an irish pub, in the first 90 seconds you will know the name of the 2 people to your left and and the two people to your right. in 5 minutes, you'll have about 10 people asking who you are and where are you from.. this sounds like an exaggeration. it's not.

Some thoughts on Week O in college football....

- Solid game in Dublin. Two good Big12 in Iowa St and Kansas St played a competitive game and they fought.... but not as well as Avery Johnson's father and brother.

They really became the fighting Irish. That should be an awkward flight home for that family. The scene involving Morris Day in 'Purple Rain' comes to mind (you know, after the 'Kid's father trips out)

- Saw another punt fielded (and fumbled) inside the 10 by Dylan Edwards in the beginning of that game. That seems to happen a lot more nowadays. Are guys now given the green light to do this? It's used to be taboo for returners

- Kansas looked good and Jalon Daniels looked like the '23 healthy version of himself. Very fun offense to watch. Guys like Leshon Williams and Cam Pickett bring some real speed to the Jayhawks offense. KU's new stadium, 'the Booth' looks great.

- Stanford... yeah. If Miami even plays them close at the Hard Rock...
If I was a fan of either K St. or Iowa St. I would be very worried. Neither team impressed me. I know its an opener but they did not look like two top 25 teams.

Formal motion to stop putting good teams in Dublin. It’s cool, but the weather sucks and the field sucks. The game had some Week 0 sloppiness too that was independent of the conditions, but that’s two of the ~four best teams in the Big 12. Put games that big stateside.

I understand it was probably scheduled a long time ago. My point remains. If they want a Dublin game, Boston College against Northwestern would be fine.
Just send FSU every year

I can't speak for their respective fan-bases, but I think they're good if they beat their in-state rivals and at the end make it to a bowl game where they can enjoy warm weather. Anything else would be a pleasant surprise, cherry on top. At least this is the impression I get.

I don't think our fanbase can handle a week in Dublin. Sons, Dads, Uncles and Abuelitos sparring in the middle of street. Abuelitas and Aunties squaring off in the Green Lot like it's 3am in soBe. No bueno.

Yeah we’ll see. I’m excited to keep up with the Big12. I have a feeling it’s going to like coastal chaos

I think the Big12 is the most balanced conference in terms of teams from 1 through 10 or so that can beat one another on any given Saturday. I like their QB play from top-to-bottom. It's an entertaining conference...

Eeh, in actuality when the Northern Europeans actually see American football that actually love it. I was around back at the hotel ( Near Prada hotel, just giving place). from being around a Swedish couple back of the hotel after the 2013 Gator game at Miami. And that game people barely scored! They loved the energy and contact.

Football is It's exciting and the second half of that game with Iowa State and Kansas State actually had some good f****** catches.

That was the best game of the weekend besides the Rainbow warriors coming back and beating f****** Stanford in, now in the ACC.
Well foreigners are used to watching Futbol where scores end up 1-0 or 2-1 so a 14-7 game would look like an avalanche of scoring to them..

Wait..... wait.... this can't be a real stat is it? Like how?

Still don’t know how Becht didn’t get poached from someone. Figured a team like Auburn would have convinced one of Becht/Robertson/Leavitt/Hoover to transfer for a big bag

I'd have to think somebody in Ames stepped up, I think they understand his value to that program. It's almost priceless, if you think about it. He certainly missed his two NFL wideouts yesterday but he somehow found a way to get it done. The guy has moxie -- and who doesn't love a QB with moxie?
