Some really good match ups on week 1

App State @ Tennessee (we will get a nice preview of what the mighty App State has)

#3 OU @ #12 houston

LSU - Wisconsin

UCLA @ TAMU

UNC @ UGA

Bama - USC (Neutral site game)

Clemson @ Auburn

BC - Ga Tech (in Dublin, Ireland - Crazy!)

Notre Dame @ Texas

FSU - Ole Miss (in Orlando)

I simply cannot ****ing wait until college football starts.

Thoughts on any of these games???

I hope Houston smokes OU.

I hope Wisconsin mauls LSU

I will definitely pull for UNC to beat UGA

I hate USC, but I loathe Bama so I'll be rooting for SC that game

I hope Clemson beat the living **** out of Auburn

Really want to see if BC and G-Tech can somehow find a way to both lose (wishful thinking)

I don't think it will happen, but I'm hoping Texas beats ND

And the only SEC team I'll be rooting for in Week 1 is Ole Miss.

"I will definitely pull for UNC to beat UGA"

This. I want to see Kirby Smart flop. I also want UNC's ranking high for when we beat them.
me too! uga fans on tbb are annoying, going to enjoy their tears.

I understand the point of how it makes the rest of the conference look better when ACC teams win vs OOC opponents.
But, I don't care... I'll never root for FSU or UNC & when they lose I'm ecstatic about it.
Idgaf if they're undefeated or not when we play them, as long as we beat'em and handle our business it doesn't matter.

Again, I understand why you guys hold the opposite position, but I'm sorry, I can't force myself to ever watch an ACC team, especially a rival & sit there hoping they win, nope can't do it...

College football is judged on a subjective basis, similar to gymnastics and drum corp. The "judges" (ie; media and poll voters) use a lot of derivatives to come up with their rankings. A game like FSU -v- Ole Miss will have a direct effect on UM's entire season (assuming we dont run the table).

Rooting against UNC and FSU in week one is the same as rooting for UM to be lowered in the polls, to be less discussed in the CFB media. This affects everything from recruiting to what bowl we end up in, etc... It aint a vacuum.
I know... Still don't care.
I will never root for FSU or UNC...

App State @ Tennessee - UT by 17 as they are overrated as usual.
#3 OU @ #12 houston - OU by 23
LSU - Wisconsin - Wisconsin by 3 and Miles seat heats up
UCLA @ TAMU - UCLA by 10
UNC @ UGA - UNC by 11
Bama - USC - Bama by 13
Clemson @ Auburn- Clemson by 21
BC - Ga Tech - Ga Tech by 10
Notre Dame @ Texas - Notre Dame by 7
FSU - Ole Miss - Ole Miss by 3

This is why College Football is the best sport in the nation.

Win, lose, or draw. It's a win-win for Canes fans when the top ACC teams go against top OoC opponents.

#3 OU @ #12 houston
Houston, we have a problem.

LSU - Wisconsin
as much as I hate the SEC, the BiG is way over rated.

UCLA @ TAMU
I got the under/over at 90.

UNC @ UGA
One of UNC's L's in a 9 win season.

Bama - USC (Neutral site game)
Upset special. Bama still befuddled by the invention of the forward pass.

Clemson @ Auburn
Clemson has done a great job of scheduling aggressively.

BC - Ga Tech (in Dublin, Ireland - Crazy!)
...does anyone care?

Notre Dame @ Texas
ND close.

FSU - Ole Miss (in Orlando)
Noles go wildcat all day for the OT win.

In a game of how does this help Miami, I'll go with:

#3 OU @ #12 Houston --- OU --- send upstart Houston back to the second tier

LSU - Wisconsin - Wisky - anti-SEC bias - we battle LSU for recruits more than Wisky

UCLA @ TAMU - UCLA - anti-SEC bias

UNC @ UGA - UNC - stronger ACC perception is better than stronger SEC for Canes

Bama - USC (Neutral site game) - USC - anti-SEC bias - we battle Bama for recruits more than USC

Clemson @ Auburn - Clemson - stronger ACC perception is better than stronger SEC for Canes

BC - Ga Tech (in Dublin, Ireland - Crazy!) - BC - ACC loss for GT better for Miami in Coastal

Notre Dame @ Texas - Tough one - better strength of schedule, keep Strong struggling, but I hate ND - we'll take care of ND ourselves

FSU - Ole Miss (in Orlando) - another tough one but FSU for the greater good ... We'll take care of them ourselves too

I don't really care how Smart does at UGA.

But even if they go 2-10 this year Smart will get to blame his awfulness on Richt. That's the way a coach's 1st year always works.

Bro, I TOOOOOTALLY forgot Smart brought Mel Tucker w him (the most despised "defensive" coordinator in my Chicago Bears History) and Dale Coley w him (after that HB Option play he called in the blizzard, the most despised Cane O-Coordinator) w him. There's not a chance in **** I would ever root for UGA this year.

How amazing would it be to see overrated *** #9 Tennessee get upset by app state then us crush app state after.

Eh pipe dream but it could happen

In all reality if we beat notre Dame and fsu then other acc teams under performing won't hurt us I don't think, we just have to take care of business

Tennessee wins but doesn't look pretty
UNC has too much offense for IF A
Clemson wins big
FSU wins close over Ole Miss. Freshman QB
USC gets killed by Bama. USC has a freshman QB
Texas may just pull of the upset against ND

Not when when has done nothing but win 10 games a year there no matter what including injuries

Which is why I noted "assuming we dont run the table..."

Realistically we're an 8-4 team this year, 9-3 at best. If we go 8-4, those ACC out of conference games will likely have an effect on UM.

Always want the ACC to beat the SEC. Want to meet an undefeated Free Shoes U team and an undefeated UNC team at home. Bigger games, bigger wins better ranking. It is better for the ACC to be perceived as a top power 5 conference than the worst power 5 conference.
