Some potential assistant coach names to watch

CY seems like a logical fit as an associate HC. HC experience, albeit failed experience at a small school, brings more in recruiting than most that would fill that role.

Wouldn’t say a grand slam but definitely a nice standup double type of hire with potential to be a homerun if he kills it recruiting.

Moran seemed like a nice hire to me but there's no fanbase to gauge the reaction

Georgia fans were very upset to lose Pastrana. Took a key assistant off a tournament team and program that's had a rapid turnaround

Curious to see Mizzou's reaction to this. The key assistant from a major turnaround program. Mizzou was winless in the SEC in 2023-24 and then went to the tournament this year. Made the tournament 2/3 seasons there.

All strong recruiters with ties to South Florida.

We'll probably have 4 assistants on the bench. Young and Pastrana and either Moran and 1 other or 2 others. Flint I'd imagine would have been done by now so doubt he comes. Hawks season is still going on so maybe Brey joins after?
 
Jai Lucas has done a great job with his staff hirings. I think CY Young, Erick Pastrana and Andrew Moran will do great. My only concern is who's the Tex Winters of this staff? Who's the basketball nerd on staff that will draw up that final play for a shot at winning the game?

He has the head coaching experience a lot of you guys wanted on the bench with Jai Lucas.
I agree with the decisions Jai made with his staff.
