Some final thoughts from the Aggie 247 site

Anyone on 247 see an update on their MLB, the Center (I think he had mono?), and Jaylon Jones? They playing? Full go or limited?

They're hoping he'll be better than King. It doesn't guarantee he will be. The, "He gives AtM a better chance to win" is unfounded conjecture.

I think the games comes down to our pass rush and coverage. If we're solid in those areas, we win. Our run defense should be solid.

The only reason people say he gives them a better chance is because option A has proven he sucks more than Johnson has proven he sucks.

People are acting like Johnson was the #1 QB and coming back from injury or something. He was ##2 for a reason. Two weeks of sitting on the bench didn't make him better.

I get King didn't meet expectations, but nobody knows how Johnson will perform under pressure. Yes, he has experience from last year, but that didn't help him win the job. At this point, they're just hoping he is serviceable.

Exactly. Hoping he is not as bad as the scrub that got benched does not mean they think he is good. If they thought that, he'd be starting from day one.
 
I’ve decided, after a lot of alcohol, that I’m tired of them ****ting the bed in these big games. When I was in school there, these were the games we looked forward to. I saw them beat Oklahoma three years in a row, their only losses those three years. The important coaches on this staff have all done this before. Time to grow a pair.

I think we'll be able to compete on both sides of the ball and won't be outclassed from a talent standpoint, but we must weather the storm early-on and execute for 60 minutes. We've put inconsistent effort on film but tonight we see what this coaching staff is made of.
 
2 picks off Johnson at a minimum. He’s risky with it. Also we wil eat them up in the passing game if we give TVD time. Lot of overrated bums over there in Aggieland.

King has elite speed for the position and that threat must be accounted for defensively. By all accounts Johnson has no elite trait but he's experienced, tough, and will execute the offense.

I think Johnson starting allows our guys to think a little less and just play.

I feel better with Max Starting. It’ll take a clean game and somebody stepping up on O. Hopefully we find a way to get Rooster more involved especially in the pass. I like our DL versus their OL , if we get a consistent pass rush with 4 and stop the run game with our pluggers we can hang around and steal this thing. Just survive the early wave / momentum.
