"Wah CMR averaged 3 losses a year at UGA wah wah"

Fun fact:
CMR has the 6th best w/l percentage of active coaches with ten years of coaching experience.

This is a top level, high quality proven head coach.

Hope this helps....I could turn this into a series if it's a hit.

OH AND HE DID IT IN THE TOUGHEST CONFERENCE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

You forgot he got his rear fired, so someone was not as impressed as you. Mark is a great guy but he just got his rear handed to him in the worse division of the worse power conference in country. Four coaches with less field talent schooled him.

You're right but that isn't the point. I was pointing out what OP was saying about records. Larry Cokers last 3 seasons is the reason why he got fired. Mark Richt has similar w/l (I know it's his first 3 seasons compared to LC last 3 seasons but still). On top of that, mark Richts offense hasn't been good at all since he's been here and will never be good.
No you are blaming cmr for the status of our football team.our team has been bad 15 years before cmr got here.and we all knew our oline was trash before he got here.you need good hogs upfront to run the kind of offense cmrs trying to run.Coker tore a great team down.cmr is basically starting from scratch the fact we all knew when cmr got hired in 2016.

Dude, he is competing in the ACC coastal. I’m sure u don’t think he needs a senior laden team to beat UVA, do u?

If you wanna talk about hypothetical matchups w elite teams, then I’d agree. But that’s not who he loses to.
You don't think playing a lot of freshmen and redshirt freshmen there isn't going to be a few setbacks do you expect 1st &2nd year starters to play like seasoned veterans and not make any mistakes or have growing pains.in fact our great 2001 team had they're fare share of growing pains in 98&99. I know you remember like how now you and the others did the same thing to butch your doing to cmr now.

He lost to the dregs of the coastal. That’s not a setback. That’s a disaster.

What less than mediocre Mork did at Georgia, 10 years ago, has no current relevance in Miami.

Bingo. The past is gone. The present is all that matters.

In the present season, we are 7-5 with the #2 defense in the country.

ARE. YOU. *******. KIDDING ME.

When Mark's past shows up and starts winning big at Miami, let me know.

.... and a young, garbage offensive line—as well as no quarterback. Hard to produce on that side of the ball when you don't have the talent or the players stepping up.

If folks want to turn on Richt, so be it—but there should be a lot more vitriol toward N'Kosi Perry and Cade Weldon, than their should be a head coach who walked into a 60-47 situation (Coker's final year to Golden's firing.)

Both those quarterbacks had a full season to redshirt and neither put in the work to beat out a very pedestrian Malik Rosier by spring. The fact that 12 outplayed both of them; that's on both immature r-freshmen. Week of Virginia Tech, Perry FINALLY has his eureka moment and talks about studying the playbook and living in the film room? Should've been doing all that since this time last year.

Had Perry been the quarterback Miami expected this year, the Canes are 10-2 right now (losses to LSU and Boston College) and are Coastal Division champs, heading to play Clemson this weekend.
So he recruited players with bad work ethic. That’s on him. Perhaps, then, failed to correct their work ethic. That’s on him. Last, he failed to design play calling to fit Rosier’s talent. That’s on him as OC. Note, this incompetence ran across the O’s spectrum, while he’s OC.

ow compare that to where the D stands. I’ll wait...

It always circles back to the head coach.

---Look up Butch Davis' record through his first 4 seasons. And don't throw that probation bullcrap in there. Richt was on probation too ON TOP of having Golden recruits. Side note -- Butch NEVER beat FSU or VT.

Not giving Richt a pass but ya'll have a skewed memory.
Butch beat #1 FSU and I believe #2 at the time VT in 2000

I would argue that the football team is worst today than it was 13 years ago.
The 2005 team was much better than we are now. They just had the loss to GT that signaled our downward spiral. Prior to that they were #3 in the BCS rankings.

Do you have any reason to argue that or was this post simply a case of posting diarrhea?

Is the comparison to the 05 meaningful in any way?

I'd argue that the current team isn't better than the 01 team either, just piggybacking on your thought process.

Fire richt. Richt sucks. He'll never take us oer the top. 2 seasons of complaining about Richt and I haven't seen anyone post a logical upgrade yet. Haha

From what I gather we need a coach with the following:
A national championship
An .800% winning percentage
Success within the first 2 years at Miami
A state of the art offense that will turn the sure handed receiving corpses we have into Randy Moss

Oh and the ability to transform a starting QB with zero common sense into a focused and mature leader. That too
