Solomon Update

The CMR visit to Solomon house today may be the reason why he didn’t decommit yet.

I hope Richt and Manny convince him to not flip, but I think we will have to respect a decision shortly after the visit.

They also need to address the negative recruiting narrative that Manny is gone next season.

Scuttlebutt out of a few HS is that is being floated aggressively. I'm sure Uncle Luke was working for/with somebody on that UNC fake news.

Yup. Luke knows a lot of local coaches.

Exactly.

Solomon is small with a small frame. I don’t see much growth potential and he’s constantly get dragged on tackles. And for his size he doesn’t blow me away athletically. He’s pretty much has the size of a db.

Yarde explodes into guys and majority of the time they go backwards.

first game of the season solomon looked all-world.

CMR and Diaz were at STA practice. Spoke with Solomon - he said conversation was positive. Expects an in home next week. This is from TOS who did a short write up:

He’s set his final official visits for both programs - to Miami the weekend of Dec. 7 and to Michigan the following weekend.
He’ll sign Dec. 19.
Solomon says the two visits will make the difference in his final decision.
“That’s what will help me (decide),” he said.
So where do things stand now?
“At the moment right now I can’t really say much on my situation,” Solomon said.
Asked if it’s a big-time Miami-Michigan battle, he said, “The way you phrased it seems correct.”

"This is the rest of my life, it’s a really big decision."

The TOS mod who wrote the article says in his opinion, it's 50-50 he sticks...

He will visit us the week before our big recruiting weekend. No bueno.

70-30 for me.

But the winter in Ann Arbor could help us.

Something weird happened here. Ivins said that Solomon sat down with the coaches and explained himself to them. THE coaches undertastood him and would understand the flip if it were to happen. Ivins knows why he’s considering it and says it has nothing to do with the coaches it’s more of him trying to get away from something else. Ivins says that there’s a lot more to it but he doesn’t wanna get into that as it’s private to the kid. Werid stuff.

Everyone keeps bringing up this 6’ 190 weight. Do you all not realize that that was almost 18 months ago? No the kid isn’t going to be a 240 pound Eddie Johnson but he will be the same size as Sean Spence, Michael Pinckney and several others we have had that succeeded here. We need Solomon, yeah he is replaceable but no one we get at this point will be as good of a prospect as him. He is a pure WLB that is athletic and can cover and we NEED VALUABLE DEPTH. No one said anything about these other guys with the exception of Brown until the Solomon leaving talk began. Now they are just as good as him? Man please, foh w that. We are literally about to go 2/6 at our biggest and best pipeline. And one of those 2 is a kid that literally no other school worth a **** wants.

Then he measured pretty much the exact same thing this spring...So that's like 7 or 8 months ago too.

I like the kid...I think he's a striker at UM and obv we need that too.

Got ya but point still remains the same. He will be fine, kids grow and get bigger. We have seen several instances of it. Ramon Buchanan was another one. This is UM. We literally take Lb’s like this every other year.

*Yes I know Ramon was much faster and more explosive but I’m talking from a pure size standpoint. Everyone is now saying he is too small anyway and can’t hold up against the run so that’s what I’m addressing.

Ya I hear ya, I don't mind the take...And don't mind small, fast backers for sure. I'm just saying EVEN BY SMALL BACKER STANDARDS this kid is on the small end of it. Looks tiny out there, doesn't look like a Grace or Spence on the field imo.
