We had some **** good teams prior to 83...the 81 defense was better than the 83 defense. People don't realize how good that team was. We beat 5 ranked teams that yr (including #1 Penn St)..and Lost 2 games on BS Calls/Non Calls. Unfortunately we were on probation (Sabans doings) so we wouldn't have been able to play for NC that yr. The 81 team was most definitely a NC team.

100%. That 81 was the best team in the country by the end of the season. Most underrated defense in the history of the program.

I don't know how UM can have 25k kids and average 4k a class. Something isn't adding up unless grad students equal a full class and even then..

In any event my point is that solid fanbases are created over decades. One class after the next. One father teaching his kids to love the U. We've been at this a long time. Seems like we'd have a stronger contingent especially since we've had one of the most storied past in college football. But here we are still trying to justify poor support for the home team.

It’s been said many times on this thread. Total UM enrollment is 17K. 12K undergrads, 5K grads.

36000 students! We dont get that many students attending games over a 2 year period.

We also don't have that many students on campus. Even if EVERY SINGLE UNDERGRAD STUDENT showed up for a game, we couldn't come close to 36,000 seats filled, we wouldn't even have a third of that number. Let that settle in.

The U has been getting 10k new students a year for the last 50+ years. Fans don't have to be made up of current students. I make 1 or 2 games a year. I never went to UM.

Miami is just a front running city.

Actually, Miami gets around 3-4k new students per year if you include undergrad and grad.
