They moved to central FL, north FL, Georgia, and the Carolinas cuz our economy imploded 5 years ago.

South Florida HS basketball has ascended. I wonder if more high-level athletes are choosing hoops over football?

I wear a LOT of UM polos and shoes...and I am CONSTANTLY getting into conversations with Miami expats who have moved to ATL and want to talk about them Canes.

One dude stopped his car in the middle of a Publix parking lot to talk about Carson Beck. It's just wild how many people from SoFla have moved to ATL.

Sure, but would also argue not that many moved from SoFL as much as how many people moved to mid-Atlantic regions (typically from New England areas) about 15 years ago and started making babies instead of finding their path all the way to the 305.

Same thing happened to SoFL population booms in 70s, 80s, and 90s.

Same thing happening in San Antonio from 2000s and on.

etc..etc...etc...

Amazing what happens to school systems right about 5 years afterwards each time...you can follow the years groups like clockwork...

It's because the corches at St. Thomas, AH, and Chaminade are all waiting on their recruits to hit year 3 and 4. Can't expect miracles.

School choice has destroyed South Florida athletics. Not debating whether its a good or bad thing-- just saying one of the unintended consequences of charter school and voucher proliferation has been the erosion of public school athletics.
