Sobering QB tweet

Thank you! But this is apart of holding on to the Glory Years.

I need to qualify a statement I made during last season: I wasn’t upset that Diaz said this was a rebuild; I was upset that he changed the narrative and perception once he couldn’t back his talk, and I was upset w fans who were gobbling that chit up like Diaz haven’t been here for 4 yrs and wasn’t apart of the cultural problem or became all of sudden naively unaware when his team looked unprepared every f’ing week.

We are a rebuild. We have a loser’s mentality. We have a talk to talk, but not walk it, mentality. So I’m not sure where we go from 6-7 (really we were much closer to a 4-8 team), to national championship contenders b/c we have a new OC, like 16 yrs haven’t existed. Lol

I’m with you, Chise....let’s walk before we can even power walk. Can we first start stringing off at least 10+ wins consistently, or winning the Lake View division consistently, first, before talking about CFP and National Championships? Lol.
Don’t get me wrong, fella. I don’t see rebuild. I see us as merely needing some competent coaching.

Competent coaching gets us to 10 or 11 wins every year and Coastal titles pretty much every year. Accomplish that simple task a few times in a row, and the sleeping giant rises from his long slumber.

I agree, but what I mean by rebuild is the culture needs to be rebuilt. Losing, moral victories have become acceptable. It's become the norm. A competent coach can fix this w/in a year's time. We have the players; it's hard for me to believe 247 has been right on player's potential for other teams, but mysteriously inaccurate w/ all of our blue chip players. We need the right leader....and truth be told if we struggle out the gate again this season, Diaz needs to be escorted out the facility. But, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt w/ all the moves he's made this off season.

Exactly.

We have had everything we need to hit our low bar goals except coaching.

The failure is administrative. We keep hiring guys with visions that don’t fit the identity of the players we get the most.

It’s a a **** shame too. We had the guy who fit twice and told him no thanks for Burnt out Richt and Buy this 89 Buick Al. Now he is up in **** land churning out 10-12 win seasons with a 4-8 team.

I want to believe in Manny, but he got some serious work to do to be the leader this program needs.

The head coach IS the culture.

It takes a year to fix when you have a coach worth a **** as long as there isn’t interference from an enabling administration.

That’s part of the problem at places like Texas, Tennessee, and Florida State.

For the sake of clarity, that's what Manny was referring to when he made the "rebuild" comment following the game. On the Joe Rose show the next Monday, Joe specifically asked him about that remark and Manny explained that he was referring to rebuilding the confidence of the team. Those that missed the Rose interview have taken "rebuild" remark out of context. Not defending Manny, just trying to add some clarity to the context of his comment.

Oh okay, so not a literal rebuild, but just a rebuild of the team’s confidence?

Kind of reminds me of when Dr. Leo Marvin advised Bob Wiley to take a vacation from his problems.
