App State fans,

We are very excited for the upcoming weekend as our Mountaineers welcome ACC foe University of Miami Hurricanes to Kidd Brewer Stadium. Kickoff is at noon. The game will be televised live on ESPN.

Throughout the last month, we have been unveiling additions and improvements to The Rock to prepare for the 2016 season and a tremendous crowd this coming Saturday.

The information below is a glance into some of the additions and game details for Saturday in Boone. Check appstatesports.com throughout the week for more details on the weekend's festivities.

NEW ADDITIONS FOR MIAMI

GAME EXPERIENCE

ADDITIONAL STUDENT SECTION/GENERAL ADMISSION – The student section/general admission will be expanded with a standing room only area in the south end zone. This will allow a limited number of students on field level close to the action, while accommodating as many students as possible. Space will be first come, first serve.

ADDED VIDEO BOARD – An additional video board will be added to give students and fans another angle to catch all the action in Kidd Brewer Stadium. The board will be positioned in the north end zone.

FIELD LEVEL SEATING – Field-level seating will be added adjacent to the south end zone to provide an exciting view of the game with a “premium seating” experience.

SKYDIVERS – Get to your seats early as the game balls will be delivered to midfield by skydivers during the pregame show.

PEP RALLY (Friday) – Make plans to join us Friday night for our pep rally featuring multiple bands, App State Head Coach Scott Satterfield, food trucks, and App State players. COMPLETE PEP RALLY DETAILS AND SCHEDULE HERE

GAME TO-DO’s

PARKING LOTS & GATES OPEN EARLY – Parking lots and gates will open early to allow students and fans to have plenty of time to enjoy the gameday experience with a 12 p.m. kickoff. GATES WILL OPEN AT 10 a.m. and PARKING LOTS WILL OPEN AT 8 a.m.

ARRIVE EARLY – With a great crowd expected for an early kickoff, it will be one of the busiest morning commutes in Boone history. Please allow plenty of time to arrive at Kidd Brewer Stadium safely.

BE PATIENT –Operational enhancements including additional ticket gates, ticket takers, bag checkers, and security personnel will be in place to ensure the best gameday experience possible.

NEW FOR 2016 (FAN SURVEY IMPROVEMENTS)

BLACK END ZONES – The traditional black end zones with gold block letter reading “APPALACHIAN” and “MOUNTAINEERS” have returned to Kidd Brewer Stadium for the 2016 season.

ACCESSIBILITY – Aisles, handrails, and walls have been freshly painted to make Kidd Brewer Stadium look its best for the 2016 season. Walkways and concourses have also been repaired throughout the stadium. On season tickets, either “East Gate” or “West Gate” has been printed on the tickets, which will help direct fans to the best stadium entry point, and will also assist with lengthy lines into the stadium. We have also added additional entry points on the east side of the stadium.

CONCESSIONS – The number of concession stands has nearly doubled, as Pepsi Beverage and Snack Carts and additional vendors have been added around Kidd Brewer Stadium to make food and beverages more easily accessible. We are proud to have partnered with Pepsi to provide expanded coverage and availability throughout the stadium. In addition to Pepsi Beverage and Snack Carts, Papa John’s Pizza, Southeast Food Vendors, The Farmer’s Wife Apple Pies, Appalachia Cookie Co. and Woodlands BBQ are all back at The Rock for the 2016 season.

MERCHANDISE - An additional souvenir stand outside of The Rock, adjacent to the ticket plaza, has been added for your shopping needs prior to the game. You can now purchase what the App State coaching staff wears as an expanded selection of merchandise has been added to include Nike sideline gear. You will also find larger quantities of shirts, and larger sizes to ensure plenty of merchandise is available.

Will be there. Then again, I didn't miss but maybe 1 or two home games for four years of high school so of course I would be there.

I think you'll find all App fan's to be overly hospitable considering the hype this game is getting and the usual atmosphere you are likely to receive whilst traveling to FSU or UF, or pretty much any other ACC school for that matter.

If someone offers you some shine, I recommend you take them up on it. This isn't the taxed shine that you find in stores under a brand, but the real deal.

you seem like someone that offers everyone shine

Going. Grew up in the 305 but living in Charlotte now. Section 112 or 110 I believe. Since moving here we have been to UNC, VT, UVA, GT and Duke. Couldn't miss this one!

I would. Don't think i'll have any this weekend because I have to drive after or else I'd be offering some up to those fans who actually make it. I assume the ones actually traveling to Boone won't be as bad in person as a large number of the folks here using terms like "retards, hillbilly, mother****ers". Not sure I'd want to see what they are like when intoxicated.

Anyone worried about cameras on the field and booth review capabilities? Appears this stadium has a lack of resources.

Good to see a lot of us going. Anyone have ideas on parking or shuttles? Boone is going to be a complete parking lot.

p.s. Getting a lot of stares in town wearing my Canes shirt, but no one has said anything.

I will be there... getting there early Saturday morning... hate I will miss Friday night. Where is the pre-game tailgate?

Blue lot, obviously. You've been around long enough now, that you shouldn't need to ask. We bring a Blue Lot with us on the road.
