He has said it numerous times that he doesn't want to do that. He's mentioned wanting to be a HC, like without ever serving as an assistant or coordinator.

I don't think he really knows what he wants to be honest.

This question gets tossed around once a week with some variation. Ed Reed was not hired to be a Czar, he was hired to be an advisor to the coaching staff and a figurehead. Were what you said was true, he failed his task miserably and should be let go as well.

Not a lot of campuses can bring a recruit on a tour and get to shake hands with a storied and accomplished NFL safety. Ed Reed has a place at the table in the Cristobal era.

If we can't find a role for Ed Reed there's something wrong! I've watched every game this year, as I always do, and he coaches on the sidelines as much as anyone. This guy has so much knowledge to share! Plus, what DB is going to say no to him?

He wants to coach. He should be a position coach somewhere. Seems to me he trying to jump str8 to coordinator and no smart school is gonna hire a coordinator with little experience no matter his distinguished playing career.

Show up once a month and a few games. It was a publicity stunt.
