Not what, who.And who redshirts?
Not what, who.
I'd love to see
LT - Williams
LG - Campbell
C - Gaynor
RG - Clark or Rivers
RT - Scaife

Red shirt Nelson and Donaldson?
The best part is there's competition for multiple spots. Add in an offense based on quicker timing and I think the biggest question marks become run blocking and short yardage conversion. I'm not going to get excited because....I'd love to see

I was someone who started wanting him at Guard, but then was adamant prior to last year about him playing Tackle because we were in dire straits. Adding Williams changes the equation. Hopefully, another Tackle can give us enough so we can use Scaife as the queen on a chess board: you have options to:I know everyone wants Scaife at Tackle, but he's a Guard, his best upside is at Guard & if he can hold down a Guard spot that will help to stabilize the line. If Donaldson can get healthy & in shape, Scaife, Donaldson, Reed & Traore is good 4 man upperclassmen Guard group that should help in the run game.
What if Walker gets a waiver? Any chance he cracks the rotation? Two lineups:
LT - Jarrid Williams/ Adam ElGammal
LG - Ousman Traore/ Jalen Rivers
C - Corey Gaynor/ Jakai Clark
RG - Delone Scaife/ Ousman Traore
RT - John Campbell/ Zion Nelson
Or
LT - John Campbell/
LG - Navaughn Donaldson/ Cleveland Reed
C - Corey Gaynor/ Jakai Clark
RG - Delone Scaife/ Ousman Traore
RT - Jarrid Williams/ Zion Nelson
Obviously, a lot will depend on if Donaldson redshirts this year, maybe he will maybe he won't, but it's imperative that we don't force TF's to play if they don't have to. Guard is much easier to play as a TF but still, Jalen Rigers even with his size, natural talent & being an EE shouldn't be forced into the lineup unless there's multiple injuries or the guys in front of him are just terrible.
The solution to our OL issues is not to continuously keep plugging in 18 year TF's at spots when they need development. Let's let our young lineman get stronger & learn the offense before tossing them out there to swim or drown.

I always felt his upside was best at Guard, he can play Tackle because he's that good, but in the instances when he did play RT he struggled some as well. Obviously, a lot of that had to do with Enox's scheme but I also think playing him out of position doesn't maximize his ability.I was someone who started wanting him at Guard, but then was adamant prior to last year about him playing Tackle because we were in dire straits. Adding Williams changes the equation. Hopefully, another Tackle can give us enough so we can use Scaife as the queen on a chess board: you have options to:
1) Put him at Guard next to Williams and create a tremendous trio of Gaynor, Scaife, Williams.
2) Put him at Guard next to the weaker Tackle to balance out weaknesses
2) Put him at Tackle opposite Williams and be good to go
Watching Lashlee's offense indicates it hides Tackles far better than what we saw last year. It also uses guards in different ways - on the move, power, split zone, etc. It's no surprise they likely want Scaife's talent there. It's just a matter of whether they can afford it. Williams' transfer makes it far easier to do.
I’m curious to see what Traore can do, supposedly the staff likes him.I always felt his upside was best at Guard, he can play Tackle because he's that good, but in the instances when he did play RT he struggled some as well. I like your idea to either play him next to Williams to have a strong side of the line or put him next to the other Tackle to help balance out what may be a weaker side.
I think a lot depends on which side they play Williams on, if they keep him at RT I would keep Scaife at LG, if they put Williams at LT I'd move Scaife to RG & see what we got with Donaldson, Traore, Reed etc at LG.
Either way, adding Williams has given us a pheneomal chess piece for the line, there's no doubt in my mind now that in Lashlee's offense under Justice's coaching we will see a greatly improved OL.
I have zero inside info on this, but just a hunch Williams will play RT for us.I think a lot depends on which side they play Williams on, if they keep him at RT I would keep Scaife at LG, if they put Williams at LT I'd move Scaife to RG & see what we got with Donaldson, Traore, Reed etc at LG.
I would assume so to, it's the spot he's most comfortable at & has the most experience in.I have zero inside info on this, but just a hunch Williams will play RT for us.
I get that but are these True Freshman better then guys we would have starting? Is Rivers a better option at Guard then Traore? Is Walker a better option then Campbell or Nelson? I 100% agree with the idea of redshirting True freshman but that would only be if we have better options to start. If Rivers is clearly a better Guard then Traore then he needs to play. Best man plays no matter what in my opinion unless it's close and the other options is a upperclassmen."The solution to our OL issues is not to continuously keep plugging in 18 year old TF's at spots when they need development. Walker is a great piece for the future & has potential to be a very good OT for us, however he missed Spring camp for both UF & Miami & will have limited time in the S&C program, he needs to a full season in the S&C before he's thrown out on the field. Even if he gets a waiver he shouldn't be playing unless it's in the 2nd half of a blowout game.
He needs redshirt, barring injury he should only see mop up duty in 4 games. I know everybody always wants the young guys to play, I do to, especially at the skill positions, but OL is different, we're not a program that can afford to keep playing 18 year olds on the OLine & expect to win games. Even with improved offensive scheme & coaching we need to let the young OL's develop before forcing them in the lineup.
So roll with campbell at LT? It was only a few practices but he supposedly was doing good.I would assume so to, it's the spot he's most comfortable at & has the most experience in.
