Offense from the Louisville game -- timid, scared to make mistakes. Many quick throws under 10 yards, an onslaught of wr screens

Or Offense from Ark St game -- Spread out, attacking passing game that goes downfield and challenges the D

Do we go into a shell and try to limit turnovers and hope for a close win, or come out guns blazing and try to light it up?

This is a rhetorical question, I assume. We know exactly what Golden will do -- he's going to go full Big Ten on us. Kaaya will throw 10-15 bubble screens and hitches, he'll be rolled out against his body in order to target a TE or RB in the flat 6-8 times, and he'll go into a straight drop back and target the middle of the field at most 2-3 times. Golden only opens it up when he's playing a team over which we have a decided talent advantage. This Nebraska game will be painful to watch.

I think we're going to try to air it out some with mixed results. Kaaya's going to get hit a good bit and probably toss a couple INTs. Something like 20/30, 210 yds 2 TD/2 INT.

Fortunately Nebraska's OL is pretty lousy. I don't see their offense doing much in this game so it probably all gets decided by a big play or 2 somewhere. We have the better athletes so I'll say we eek out a close, low scoring win that speaks more to Nebraska's mediocrity than our 'improvement'.

It is. I believe they had to replace 4 of 5 starters from last year and even their fans have been *****ing about their OL's performance thus far.

Don't think Abdullah does much on Saturday. We'll see.

I don't get why people are sleeping on Nebraska. They did play a lousy uninspired game vs. McNeese, but I don't think that game defines them by any means.

I'm hoping for a win but expecting a loss. I expect our defense to be exposed, big time. And, the game is in Lincoln, which makes a huge difference.

All signs point to this being an ugly affair for us. I would love for us to come out and attack like we did against Ark St(without the ridiculous trick plays). I just don't think Golden will allow that. I think we will have to score at least 31 to win

I read somewhere Nebraska's defense has given up 8 passing plays of over 20 yards already.

If Golden does his homework, we should dial up an aggresive gameplan for saturday.

Of course this probably means Gus Edwards gets 7+ carries somehow.

What I hope to see on Offense:
- Spread the field out and quick throws. Short slants to Waters, Lewis, and Berrios in the slot on third and short to keep the drive going.
- They respect Dorsett's speed and play off him. Take a few shots to keep them honest but please don't chuck it on every possession.
- When it comes to Duke: No slow developing stretch plays. One cut then hit the hole. Screen plays. Put him in the slot. Get him in space.
- Play action roll out to Warlord. Oh, and play action on first down.

What I'd like to see on Defense:
- It doesn't matter. We're f***ked. Armstrong and Abdullah will manhandle us.
- Pray for a shootout. It's the only way we'll win.

I think the key is TOP. If it's lopsided like we're used to then there's no way we win this game. We can't revert to that quick strike offense with big plays that we're used to. That leaves our defense on the field for the majority of the game. Even if we find a way to bottle up Abdullah and/or Armstrong, they will eventually find space late in the game with a tired D-line.

I think we see some early deep balls leading to a lot of DUKE. I think the main reason they dug so deep into the playbook this week was mainly just to give Neb. something to think about. All the sudden we start launching a bunch of deep balls, well that is going to keep their Safeties play a bit more honest, which will lead to a heavy dose of Duke. They have really kept his touches down the last two games and I think this game was why.....

Really looking to the D to step up in this one though..... They have played pretty well so far but this is a big game against a solid offense...Should be very entertaining to see this one shake out....

Nebraska would be more susceptible to using Duke Johnson in the passing game out of the backfield. Their secondary is very good, and they have a really good D-line with some legit pass rushers. Its more than just Gregory. They have 4 legit NFL defensive linemen and Greg McMullen, the D-End opposite Gregory is a budding star in the Making. I don't believe 5 or 7 step drops will be ideal. And while it can help Kaaya to roll out the pocket, Nebraska's defensive ends on either side are tremendous in pursuit. Play action can work early on drives, but staying out of 3rd down vs. this team will be key. The Canes are only converting 23% of their 3rd downs. Nebraska's defense is one of the best 3rd down teams in the country right now.

Misdirection with Duke.... Screen game with Duke, and get the Tight Ends involved. Also, it would behoove Kaaya to potentially take off and extend some drives on longer down and distances if he's sees some daylight. Nebraska plays a Matchup Zone which often places 6, sometimes 7 guys in coverage. That's why their pass defense is always pretty good, especially if they don't have to account for the QB running the football.

However, when you spread the defense like that and a lot of the defenders have their back to the QB, it gives the QB some running room. IMO, if he stays in the pocket, he's going to be in trouble.
