What shall the old storefront preacher do? Will he hire an offensive coordinator? Absolutely not. That thought will never enter his mind. What will he do? Well, the storefront preacher really enjoys promoting graduate assistants. And this is a great time to do that again. So, who will it be? Well, how about DeMarcus Van Dyke? He has served Faithfully. He walks with the Lord. I can see Richt promoting him to special teams coach.

Thoughts?

I 100% see this happening. Good call

This is what WILL happen. But I think Jon should be moved to ST coach. Since he's herpes and we're stuck with him until the end and our ST already suck, why not? He could recruit his 1 player like usual, but it would be a kicker and punter, once every 3 years.

We have plenty of money. If I remember correctly we're not paying Simpson the kind of money we paid Kool. Now we're replacing Manny at a discount. Richt has plenty $ for an oc that he won't get. I never thought I would see a coach as stubborn as Golden. Our defensive coaches are straight amateur time. No big names, they may do well but the perception top the recruits are we are small time fb.
We need to do what Clemson did years ago and go to an explosive offense. We need a coach that can bring excitement to the fan base. While running a aggressive defense. We cannot out bama Alabama trying to run a conventional offense.

I’m not sure Richt has any desire to hire anyone outside the building.

With u 100%. There's only one person he truly wants to hire from outside the program. He just can't get his hands on him.. yet.

I'll beat the Bobo drum until I'm proven wrong or get hit with a ban. But in Richt's mind he solves all Richt's problems. He is a Richt loyalist to an extreme. Having run them on the field and called them as OC himself, he would gladly call Richt's 30 year old plays. He would have no problem with QB coach. He was OC at UGA during coach Brown's Sr year. So if there were anybody TB would be willing to take a demotion for, there ya go.

In 2019 I'll be CSUs biggest 1 year fan. Hope they win every game.

He's going to hire his long lost son. Richt puts loyalty to him over the needs of the program. No matter how unskilled or incompetent, he wants loyalty to him so they can cover for his ineptitude. Make MIAMI Great Again!

That would be his best move in months.

If Richt does this even his most loyal apologists can't defend him anymore. He would just be admitting he's collecting a check.

This. With Banda and Patke's promotions, he made it to where he would be able to hire an actual OC and get some movement with this offense going into the offseason. This is what's needed. It'd also be beneficial for guys like Dugans and Brown whom are still at the beginning of their respective careers; and if Richt thought about the long term with his kid, have an OC who's got a specialty in developing QBs and work with Jon Richt so that he's better prepared for when he leaves Miami. You can't expect to live off a couple of years making a $200k salary for the rest of your life with a wife and kids.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if DVD is promoted to a ST position, which no offense to him, would be a very lackluster move on Richt's part.

I could see DVD getting the nod. I like a real special teams coach since I know an OC not coming.
