So we finally offer Treon Harris as a QB.

GTFOH with that bullsh*t. How the f*ck you know what he wasnt or wasnt on top of regarding MT or Kirkland?

Says nobody could have any idea as to the intimate dealings of the staff with regards to Thomas and Kirkland.

We CALLED Kirkland's bluff, becuase the kid was playing us. If ANYTHING, we caught the kid before he F*CKED us on NSD like Randy and Coker got f*cked year after year with kids playing us for fools.

Pretends to know exactly what happened with the staff and Kirkland.

Not only that, if we did call his bluff and didn't get ****ed it's only because Coley let us know what was up. Golden and his dopes were going to get played just like Coker/Shannon.

And what did it matter that supposedly called his bluff anyway? How did that help us other than to pat ourselves on the back for being great fake detectives and not being part of a signing day hat game? Did it help us land a replacement for him by calling his bluff? Did it help our reputation in any way? Sure didn't seem like it did.

Because they felt they were being played and lied to? Are you f*cking for real dude? How many years have we b*tched about kids jerking us around, playing us, doing the bullsh*t hat game with us, leaving us at the altar on NSD??? And then we actually happen to CATCH one, in the act. Coley came and blew the whistle that the kid had also committed to FSU and was playing games. Barrow GAVE HIM THE CHANCE to come clean and be straight with him and affirm the commitment he had ALREADY MADE to us. And he DIDNT. Kirkland is not here, becuase he didnt want to commit, when he was caught playing games and exposed as having been committed to other schools.

And now that is another example of Golden's stupidity. LMAO. I mean the bullsh*t in here is so deep it would drown a Giraffe.

No, you're right. Golden absolutely nailed that situation. SLAM DUNK.

a kid that was shown love by the current Natl Champs is going to bolt and sign with Miami a team that wouldn't offer him @qb and finishes the season 2-4 in there final 6 games. Oh and all kinds of rumors about the head coach leaving. Yea I would say Treon is a lock to the U.

With how tight we are on numbers, if we are offering Treon, someone is not coming. Doesn't have to be another QB, but someone that this staff originally thought was coming isn't coming and they know it.

Or they feel we are losing a QB on the Roster and need to take a 3rd. And Im pretty sure its not Gray Crow they are sweating about.

We can only bring in so many players. Even if we are losing a QB, we just can't simply add another number to the overall total number of new guys that we are bringing in.

And with that said, for the love of God, you absolutely offer Treon Harris before you offer Malik Rosier. I mean, to not do so is almost comical. You guys argued to the death that it would do more harm than good because "what if Treon lost the QB battle and became a cancer to the team." Now, in freakin January, we extend the offer. smh. This is a cluster****.

NOT, if you are reasonably sure hes NOT going to take the offer. IMO this could very well have been a political move, to undercut any local bad blood if we DO offer a 3rd QB. Instead of saying, "Hey lets run out and offer Joey Jo Jo from Kentucy, we better give Treon an offer first, knowing he wont take it, but at least people wont say that we slapped the kid in the face and never offered, THEN we can go offer Joey Jo Jo".

You cannot be serious.

If this was a political move, it was a horrendous one.

It sends a message that you have no ******* clue what you're doing in terms of evaluating and maneuvering South Florida recruiting politics. It's an absolute blunder. Either stick to your guns, or you should've offered at QB a long-*** time ago.

Nah man. URITE. Golden is a moron. Total fool. SHould have just counted on Kirkland, let him punk us on NSD, toss our hat on the floor, and then you all would have lauded Golden for "sticking with Kirkland" for the good of community relations. Right? LOL

WRONG! GOLDEN IS A MUTHA****ING GENIUS!

I think this offer has everything to do with Al trying to get some names into the fold like JC, Lane and maybe solidifying Chad

My fear is that it has to do with 2015 kids.

lol at this offer being for the 2014 kids. If so, then that is the most pathetic reason I can envision. 2015? Nah.

With how tight we are on numbers, if we are offering Treon, someone is not coming. Doesn't have to be another QB, but someone that this staff originally thought was coming isn't coming and they know it.

Rosier silently decommitting is just about the ONLY legit reason I can envision the staff having for offering Treon now. Crow is irrelevant.

This has nothing to do with Kaaya. When will people finally get it through their heads that Kaaya will be at Miami, not USC or UCLA?

In reality, Pete, I don't think anyone outside of one loon is saying that. :)

“Yes sir,” Harris said. “I’m not considering any other offers.”

His older brother Brandon Harris shined for Miami from 2008-2010 and his dad, Booker T Washington head coach Tim ‘Ice’ Harris, coached for the Hurricanes under Randy Shannon.

Miami offered Treon Harris as an athlete, not at his preferred position of quarterback. If they reversed their stance on that offer in January, the prospect already has his answer in hand.

“I would be like I don’t hear them,” Harris said.

“Trust me man, we’re getting Lane and Cook,” Harris told 247Sports early Tuesday afternoon following the U.S. Army All-American practice at Heroes Stadium. “I know that for sure. I don’t know about Rudolph. He told me he was coming on his official visit but I don’t communicate with him a lot. I communicate with Cook and Lane the most. We are pretty cool with each other.”

Smooth move Al. Well played.

Yeah, barf. If Treon was THAT connected to these guys and would recruit to the extent he's doing for FSU, why not see this earlier an offer him.

SMH at it all.

Since no one around here can seem to pull their heads out of their @sses long enough to THINK clearly without foaming at the mouth to b*tch about how stupid AG and the staff is, LETS THINK ABOUT THIS.

Treon is in our backyard. We have had the opportunity to offer him at QB this WHOLE time, but didnt. So what changed????

WHO was suspended for the bowl game and has had a LOT of bad rumors floating around him most of the season?

This isnt about the staff suddenly deciding they love Treon as a QB. This is about Olsen IMO. They think he's flaking out, or maybe even likely to bail, and now we may be looking at taking a 3rd QB in this class because things have CHANGED.

We didnt just suddenly decide that Treon is a great QB, either we struck out with other options and they have an offer and he was next on the board, OR, MORE LIKELY, one of the QBs on our roster is flaking out, and they have decided to try to bring in 3.

The majority of your posts are about how everyone else has their heads up their own asses. Get it together.

It's likely that hardly anyone thinks that this is about the staff "deciding they love Treon as a QB." This is about the staff being a solid three steps behind. Whether or not it has anything to do with Olsen is irrelevant to what this looks and feels like to the local crew. If you're not going to offer someone like Treon (QB or not) it's because you feel strongly about the situation. If you feel strongly about the situation, you don't alter that stance because there is "some movement" on the roster. This is bigger than the evaluation of a QB.

How is the staff "3 steps behind"? More bullsh*t. Even you have gone off the deep end here with the endless hate and negativity. Do you really think Golden and Coley are that stupid that they didnt evaluate this kid properly? They didnt offer him til NOW, despite all the other cr@p that has gone on. WHY? Because he was not high up on their QB board, thats why. We had 2 guys committed and they CLEARLY like them better. NOW, however, something has changed. And AMAZING cooincidence, it comes just after our prized 4 star QB recruit from last year, was just suspended, and there have been tons of rumors about his attitude, work ethic, and even possibility of transfer. And LO AND BEHOLD, we offer a 3rd QB.

You really dont see this for what it is?? You seriously think this is just AG and Coley being stupid and disorganized and not having thought about offering Treon at QB until now? REALLY? I honestly dont even know what to say at this point.
You just accused one of the more level headed posters on this site as having gone off the deep end.

Your love affair for Golden is very disturbing. You will not criticize him or deem him fallible. Get a hold of yourself because you are making a mockery of yourself. Get it together.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said. Holy ****.

Even had he done that, how would the 2013 class be different? Who did we pick up to replace Kirkland after supersleuth Golden sniffed him out??

Kirkland pulling a hat trick wouldn't have been as bad as Ice Harris and other coaches slamming the school for yanking a kid's offer. Hat tricks happen. We handled that situation poorly. And if it was about numbers, why did we accept late commitments from Corn Elder and Derrick Griffin?

It was a mistake.

Unfukin real... Golden should have offered him last year as a QB.. Kids in dade county respect him and would of gave UM a real chance.. Lane and Cook(still got payed) would of gave Miami a more serious look.. Smh Golden blew this one just like Skai Moore last year..

Ive criticized Golden for things that are obviously fair to criticize. But this is ridiculous. I mean people are acting like they dont know who Treon is or just randomly decided to do this without thinking. For YEARS all we have heard is how organized and hard working AG is on recruting. They guy has been lauded as one of the best recruiters and hardest workers out there. Now suddenly he is a moron, because people are making rash assumptions not having a clue why something was done. The only answer can be that he is just an idiot, becuase that is now the answer to EVERYTHING on here. And Im sorry, but that is asinine. And yes, Lu has been exceedingly negative for weeks now, about everything. This place has become a cauldron of hate and b*tching that seems to just feed on itself where absolutely NOTHING related to this program now can be deemed even acceptable. Everything is just another sh*t storm of complaints and insults.

It seems clear to me that they have never been very high on Treon at QB. And the potential baggage he could bring with it. But if there are rumblings in So Fla about us not offering him, and if we did then go out and offer a 3rd QB, and DIDNT offer, Treon first, I think it would be even MORE insulting to the kid, and would definitely exacerbate any "rumblings" already going on about the situation. Im not sure how people cant see that.

So then you think it would be better to go out and offer and take a 3rd QB from somewhere else, and STILL not offer Treon at QB? You think that would have sat better down in the So Fla scene?

What does a token offer this absurdly late in the game buy us? Nothing. People aren't stupid. Either the offer is insincere, or it shows gross incompetence.

Obvious to everyone.

Hearing Giovanni Bernard also received his UM offer today

Bernard was a top-notch back that made it very clear that he wanted to get out of the state. Harris is a project QB who has been insisting on being a QB even though it's highly unlikely he'll make it as one in any major college program.

Stop lying, Al Jr. Harris has never insisted on anything other than getting a "shot" to play QB. He was actually very open to the possibility that he might get moved at some point. He just wanted a shot.

Some of you Alpologists love to spread lies to try to excuse away the decisions that are so crazy that it looks like one of AlFAILfa's pillars fell and hit him in the head.

What have you been on lately. You used to be a somewhat reasonable poster. You've become a raving nutcase lately.

Nice response, dumb ****.

Yes, because juvenile nonsense like "AlFAILfa" and "Alpologists" along with your nonsensical ranting is much better.

Maybe because we had extra spots open when certain kids didnt qualify, and the Kirkland spot, which we had counted him in, only to learn that he was not really committed to us at all?

LMAO, this is hilarious though. I remember last year, when EVERYONE was praising Golden for "not taking any more bullsh*t from these kids playing games with us", and how "tired of these kids jerking us around"...etc... Now EVERYONE here was against it from the start huh? Amazing. Amazing how so many people who disagreed with calling Kirkland out, stayed quiet last year, and how everyone's position has now changed. Now the answer to everything is just: Golden is stupid. Carry on.

I would put the odds at having a third QB in this class at 0.0%- this offer has nothing to do with getting a 3rd QB in this class

It doesnt BUY us anything. It undercuts MORE b*tching, if we DO go out and offer another QB, and we STILL havent offered Treon. Those who are complaining now, will be screaming their HEADS off at how we "disrespected the local kid", and how we went out and took yet ANOTHER QB, and STILL never offered Treon, etc.... At least now we can say, "Look, we gave Treon the offer, before we went out to Kentucky or wherever, to offer this other kid".

I wasn't against it because our numbers were tight, and if Kirkland was holding up someone else's spot, I understand.

But that didn't appear to be the case, so you let it play out. People remember bad press more than they remember some hat trick.
