His shtick got old but iirc before he got there, Rutgers was one of the worst D1A football teams and turned them into a pretty good program. Top 5 appearance once - pretty remarkable transformation. Lol at being like al golden.
 
They both suck. Similar characteristics. I saw his stubborn,smug,arrogance up close here. (Tampa)

I was optimistic at first thinking hey i rememberer him. This could be good. But nope. The roster made him look good here. (Miami)

Im comparing numbers and results so... I stand by the parallel

Golden took a bad Temple team and made them competitive.

Schiano took a bad Rutgers team and made them decent.

Neither could coach their team to great.

Net-net Schiano's is just a slightly better version of Golden.

Schiano coached against West Virginia, Louisville, Pitt and would beat them with his Rutgers teams. Golden can't even beat those teams with his miami teams. lol at comparing the 2. I understand not wanting Greg but are you morons gonna say every other coach is Golden 2.0 when we know that's not true? Schiano would win 10 games a year here every season.

Sounds like Jimmy Johnson. Had a .535 winning percentage at Oklahoma State. Lost the Independence Bowl and won the Bluebonnet. Never beat Nebraska or Oklahoma. Schiano will recruit locally unlike the Golden Boy. Heck, Schiano used to put up billboards down here to recruit. Unfortunately there is a ceiling at Rutgers. This school can make coaches. Dennis and Butch never quite found the same success elsewhere that they found here. The talent base is here for a coach that is willing to learn and not be a stubborn *** like the Golden Boy.

*** whatever u talkin about W schiano. We all could say the same thing about Golden coming from Temple, at the time of hire.

I live in Tampa and the coaching errors and personal attributes are very similar.

U arrogant know it alls are stuck on what he did here at the turn of the 21st century, 15 years ago. Ignoring the 13 in between. Him and Golden have a career winning percentage seperated by a THOUSANDTH of a percent.
 
He's better than Folden, but so was the last **** I took. I have no use for Monkey Boy Schiano here. He did a decent job at Buttgers, but he had way too many bad years and too many clunker performances.

Well he's won 11 games before and 5 bowl games, so that's better than Al. I'm pretty sure he's won his conference, so that's better than Al. I think he's beaten teams that were in the top25 at the end of the year, so that's better than Al.

I don't want him as UM's coach, but he's def. had more success despite similarity in win pct. and general PSU-ness.

Even this is not entirely accurate. golden took a temple team and scheduled a bunch of powder puffs and had the biggest budget in the MAC. So they only slightly improved.

He was coaching in the beepers, boomboxes and blank tapes bowl with backstreet boys as the halftime musical guest. Gtfoh. 5-1 bowl games.

Greg isn't my first choice.... but God**** it if he ain't better than the **** we got now...and its not even close.

Also - Schiano FIRED D'nofrio at Rutgers... so that goes along way in my book

Schiano comes from the Butch Davis coaching tree.

Has coached at the NFL level as assistant and head coach.

Did a good job at Rutgers bringing them back to respectability in an arguably tougher conference.

These facts alone make him the anti-Golden.
