So one thing is clear reading this board

All our options suck and we are screwed. Nobody is going to be happy.

I don't agree. Every option on the board right now is a step up from the candidates for the UM job the last three searches featured. They might not by homeruns, but none of them are foul-outs to the first baseman.

I've pretty much checked out of the boards due to the overall retardation of our fan base. It's so ******* bad. We really do deserve Schiano or Mario. There is literally no one that will please anyone. Not the guy that's won 75% of his games. Not the guy that built the best roster ever. Not the guy that has probably the most innovative offense in recent CFB history. Nope. Nothing. It's like watching a bunch of Simple Jacks eat glue.

This. Despite the natural reactionary/contrarian nature of the board, we're in much better shape this go-around, IMO. Will certain people hate whoever we hire? Of course, but it doesn't change the fact that we have a much better pool of candidates.

Schiano would be a foul-out.

I would say Mullen in 2010 was a better option. Patterson in 2007 as well.

YEP!!!!!! It's like it's cool to be overly negative on this board. I'm super excited about Richt and Butch. I hope we decide on one of them.

I'd be happy with any of the 4 that interviewed! This time around every candidate can do something great here. But it's just my opinion. I'm sure some fool will hammer me for it! lol!!!

I would argue he'd be a swinging bunt and still not what we want, but that's splitting hairs. He's obviously the least desirable candidate. But an improvement over Coker, Radio, or Folden.

Given our recent history, Butch/Richt/Mullen would all doubles off the wall. Schiano is a hard hit liner back to the pitcher. Whether it's caught or knocks the hat off the pitcher's head is TBD

We need a lot more doubles and a lot less strikeouts. We miss here and we're rolling with a Golden Sombrero.

It's not that no one is going to be happy, it's that some people are going to be unhappy and will make the board miserable to be on from day one. Whoever the new coach is will get blasted by someone after one loss.

Nick Saban or fold the program.

I was thinking something along those lines, however, since every coach has his detractors and his fans, and the arguments for and against each are pretty good, the bottom line is that with any of the mentioned guys here (no mario), there is Hope.

One loss?

More like one incomplete pass and that's proof coach they didn't want shouldn't be here.

And forget about the Butch groupies. If it is not Butch I fear they may all group suicide.

I will be content to happy with any one of the guys we are looking at. I certainly have preferences, but I think we will be much better in the next 3-5 years than we have been recently. I don't doubt we will be looking at 10+ wins pretty consistently in the next 5 years (maybe not next year, depending on what players come back and what our recruiting looks like).

Picking any staff from a winning local high school would be an upgrade over most of the current staff.
