So Now What?

I’m not sure what can be done at this point.
I’m still in shock from witnessing that thorough *** wipin we just received.
A staff that prides itself on being physical just got manhandled by a conference USA team. That was the most shocking part to me. Forget, the poor execution, how the **** can we not control the line of scrimmage against middle Tenn.
This loss sets the program back big time. Any momentum we had going into the season has completely evaporated.
What a complete disaster.

I give Gattis one bye week and UNC to figure it out. This season is already marred; sure we can win the coastal but whatever.

Give your supposed Broyles award winner 1 more game with all the heat in the world on him to make changes. If it doesn’t happen, then fire him.
The only thing is, if you let him now you get 2 weeks to work things out.

But I can see giving him an ultimatum and chance to change, because if you lose to unc, the seasons over and it wont matter any way.

So is Gattis the problem or TVD... if it's Gattis then Lashlee was a genius.
It’s both IMO.

I defended Gattis after the A&M game and in the 1H today; I still maintain that while it’s not a pretty offense, we had a multitude of guys schemed open that either dropped passes or weren’t hit by TVD.

2H…the Red zone play calling sealed it for me. Absolutely hard-headed, asinine decisions.

But at the same time, I don’t get why people are clamoring for Lashlee…do y’all remember running like a$$ with him too? How about his 2.8 ypc today vs TCU?

But anyways…Gattis’ fate is sealed with another poor performance vs. UNC

I pointed out last week that Gattis was a huge problem. And I never said anything about wanting Lashlee. We don’t have to sing Lashlee’s praises just because we recognize that the Broyles winner isn’t the answer.

Yea but my reference to Lashlee was solely regarding what he did with TVD and how TVD looked last year. Hindsight always creates geniuses.
I agree that Gattis's fate is clearer with a sad offensive performance vs. UNC, however, we may be stuck with him for longer than we would like and thus this year is a total flop.

I’ll save the whole raging and rambling for the other threads, y’all are doing just fine.

But what now? 90% want Gattis fired sure, but he’s probably not going to be after 4 weeks. What do we do for the remainder of the season?

Garcia has to start over TVD, ok cool. I think he looked pretty good but there are still monumental, glaringly large holes on this roster. Are these guys just bad eggs? We’ve heard about the clique-y nature last season and it sounds like it still persists…after the game, multiple players were b!tching about the crowd size, as If they played anything deserving of a packed house…so what now?

Wait 2-3 classes for Mario’s dudes? Hit the portal like mad again and push guys out? Fire a f^ck ton of coaches? It’s tough man…Steele didn’t forget how to coach. Mario didn’t forget how to build a roster. But…ffs.

What about recruiting, how the **** do you proceed there?
you could have Joe Burrow and we still wont look any half way decent on offense. its not Gattis anymore. ive taken my opinion back. its the Columbus bro and his stupid cafecitos that will forever hold the program back

Gattis...
its obvious lashlee put TVD in a system where he could legitimately be a top 10 pick. he may be a system QB but he was very good in that system even w his warts. lashlee masked it which is what coaches do. its gattis as a bad fit for the roster and Mario has a prehistoric ape when it comes to coaching winning football in 2022. he not even running the ball better than the team in Oxford who we stole their best back and RB coach

coaching staff didn't have these guys ready to play whatsoever, they acted like a loss to the aggies was the end of the season. This is all on cristobal unfortunately
this is a good thing. you found out what you have w Mario. hes just average but w years of exp and hes a good recruiter. we found out about Manny in year 1 w FIU. you found out about Mario in 4 weeks. it wasn't just tonight, it was southern miss too. the signs were there. we ignored it.
