Great trade. But i see today you're off that guy and onto the new flavor of the months. You'll realize no coach will fix this because we won't EVER be able to recruit the rosters we had back in the day.

We’ll unlike you, I don’t like to just give up so easy. And we have been over 50%BC ratio since after richts first recruting class. Correct me if I’m wrong but I recall that’s the goals that must be meant to compete for national championships but we can’t even compete for the coastal/acc even though we continually have the second most talented roster in the acc. That’s coaching sporto! Plain and simple! I’m sorry you can’t see that. A true program builder like Bill Clarke or Gary Patterson would lay waste to the coastal with our current roster. But if your still so stuck on having a roster like we did back in the day, you know who is an ace recruiter and have us recruting in the top 10/5 every year? Mario cristobal, and on top of that his whole salary was gonna be paid by a booster so we could have had that much more money to pay a top staff. But of course Flake went ahead and thought it would be a better idea to pay 4 Million to temple ( like they haven’t fvcked us enough with fatso) to make a DC with no head coaching experience from a failed staff our head coach. Thats criminal malpractice at the highest order. And regardless of what you want to say about Mario incase you’re one of the Mario haters On here (I don’t know if you are or not) Mario has forgot more football that manny will ever know, he’s champion as a player and coach, he coached under the greatest coach of all time and is a two time pac 12 champ and rose bowl champion. He was the hire in 2019 and is still the hire now if your focus is to have a top 5/10 roster instead of the top 25 roster we have now. Me personally, I’d rather have bill clarke or gar Patterson because what we need more then anything right now after the last 16 years of crap, is a true program builder.

I see you’ve added a new name. Gary Patterson. I like him too, but there is ZERO proof he’d be any good here. Plus he’s been making 6 million a year and hasn’t had a good year in the last few. Seems like he’s getting paid for what he did previously than what he’s doing now

There is no proof in anything man, no guarantees what so ever in life, but there is odds and the odds are guys like Patterson, cristobal or Clarke would be a **** of a lot better here then any coach we’ve had since Butch, those are undeniable facts. So you roll the dice like any coaching hire and hope dor the best, but you do it with the odds on your side. Hiring manny, like Shannon is not rolling the dice with the odds on your side. Neither had experience as ahead coach, both came from a failed staff but atleast Shannon played the game and was a champion. What’s manny a champion at, madden football? Smh don’t you think it’s worth a shot to keep trying to hit on a coach or do you prefer waiting For the inevitable rock bottom like we did with Clappy, radio, fatso and now Manure. It’s as clear as daylight he isn’t the guy, so what are you holding on to? He just trotted out the same undisciplined and unprepared team last Saturday as he did for the last two years. He called the same defensive scheme that got eaten up AGAIN that we were just slaughtering Baker for even though it’s mannys scheme. We’ve lost three games in a row where the team looks no different and makes the same mistake and the opposing offense continually lights up. Aren’t you sick of it? I know you have to see it, it’s right in front of your face the last two plays season and the last three games.

Coaching salaries have skyrocketed while the triumvirate of Saban, Swinney and Meyer have DOMINATED the actual trophy accumulation over the past 20 years. Those are the only three guys who deserve the money, but a bunch of ham-and-eggers are getting paid and laid at 50 other universities that mistakenly think they have a shot at the crystal football.

And it might already be too late. The NCAA Constitutional Convention could actually be worth a ****e if (a) Thanos snapped his fingers and blipped Mark Emmert out of existence, and (b) the SEC wasn't fully prepared to take its footballs and leave the NCAA forever if the Convention threatens to take away their cash cows and overpaid coaches and unlimited analysts and "academic support centers" and waterslides and whatnot.

I agree with you 100%.

It all started in 1997, when the NCAA started to become a plutocracy. The restructuring that took place, moved Div.I from a one-institution, one-vote assembly to a conference-based legislative council. The Division I separation from Div.II and III happened because the FBS institutions openly threatened to leave the NCAA. This accomplished 3 main goals:

1.) gave each division more autonomy, but 50 percent of all voting positions on the NCAA Executive Committee and 61 percent control of the NCAA Division I Board of Directors, to the FBS.

2.) relegated Div.II and Div.III’s joint share of NCAA national championship and organization revenues to no more than 8–11 percent

3.) gave Div.I control of the lion’s share of NCAA’s revenue distribution

The final nail in the coffin happened in 2015, when P5 conferences were given even greater legislative autonomy. The NCAA Division I Board of Directors passed a new model giving the five conferences authority to create their own legislation and voting rights. Fast forward to today, where the P5 conferences led by a select few schools, have become so powerful, the NCAA is relegated to being nothing more than a shadow organization. After realignment the SEC will generate more revenue than the entire NCAA by itself.

It took a coach who averaged 10 wins a year and two SEC titles to win Miami its first bowl win in a decade and then first division championship. Miami needs to make big splash hires if it is going to meet any fan expectations.
No more Golden/Shannon résumés and expecting Saban results.
 
i'm ****ed at manny.

he was practically handed a 11-1 opportunity this season.

Michigan state was a winnable game

we blew unc, fsu, and virginia


it's going to cost him his job, but as a fan, i don't give a f*** who the coach is. I feel we got robbed of an amazing season over pure stupidity. Richt with this team and lashlee would be a cfb playoff team

It's about to happen. The message it sends is that Miami is tired of guys underachieving. There's no excuse why this team should be 8-5 after a bowl win. If Manny Diaz was merely competent and played the best players on the field at all times, he would have 1-2 additional wins RIGHT NOW. If Manny Diaz was merely competent and knew how to teach simple concepts like zone defense in 4th and long situations, he would have an additional win. A competent coach wins 9+ games with this roster. PERIOD.

Not a doubt anymore that the AD is the problem (I would say that the BOT is the problem, but they mostly seem to be hand's off at this point, so I think it's clear the distinction starts with Beta Blake James.)
