So Herman Getting a Raise?

I fail to see how this prevents us from hiring him. He's in the American conference. He's going to leave that conference. This season. Pay him and you can have him. The chicken littles on this site are reeeeallly pathetic.

If you think our BOT is going to get into a bidding war over an HC, you are very mistaken. They didn't do it for Butch, who had, in 2000, a record of 11-2, and a #2 ranking.

Davis takes reins as Browns coach - Chicago Tribune

1-30-2001

Davis, 49, was announced at a morning news conference at Cleveland's training facilities and excitedly talked about his future with the Browns, where he signed a five-year contract worth about $15 million and replaces Chris Palmer, who was fired after going 5-27 in his first two seasons.

Davis bolted UM on Monday after he made assurances for the last two months that he would remain the Hurricanes coach. He also was in the middle of renegotiating a five-year contract extension at UM that would have been worth about $8 million.

Policy continued to have discussions with Davis' agent, Marvin Demoff. Late last week, when it appeared contract renegotiations at UM began to bog down, Demoff told Policy there might be a “glimmer of interest” from Davis.

Pretty sure we only lost to UW that year.

A raise to $3M will only stop Miami. Congrats Houston, now there's only 6 schools looking at Herman instead of 7. That may be a stretch though - who knows if our dipshyt board of helmet wearing retards was ever looking at Herman. Lack of Miami ties was too much to overcome.

Well, that's Shula, someone else, and now Herman off the list.

I understand Meyer and Saban have twisted and turned in agony over this great opportunity, but decided to hold pat.

Gary Patterson is holding in place at TCU. Chip Kelly apparently doing double work at the Eagles and in the middle of a project.

Charlie Strong is playing UM as his safety net if he gets fired at Texas, Texas is ****ed like UM was when we found out our Head Coach was putting out feelers with PSU, and Texas booster are waiting to offer Saban big time money to come to Texas.

UM is consulting former players, which previously gave us Clappy and Radar - so it's not like they know ****.

Looking more like that useless piece of **** Mario is the only thing left.

We won't hire Mario. No chance.

BBB!

Hope you're right, but considering the POS hires they've made the last three times, I don't trust these fools to get this right.

It's a new board and over half its demographic were children. Can't blame em.

Good play by him. He's a smart dude - he's holding out for a top notch job.

Also prudent to strike while you're hot. A stumble or two next year in Houston and he's no longer the talk of every CFB team with an opening.

You're right but he's shown that he can be very prescient with this regard. He turned down strong's offer of being the Texas OC because he knew osu was going to have a good year (2014) and that he was more interested in a HC gig.

It's funny how lots of people were down playing Herman because of his inexperience. But the school is about to more than double his salary, they know what they have. Curious to see how happy he is there and if he takes up the offer. Would be a hard road to win a NC there but he might really like it or he might want to wait for whatever his dream school is.

I've given up hope on Herman even getting a look by these inept a$$holes in our athletic department. I truly believe that Butch is the only legitimate hope at this point. Unfortunately, I don't think they'll hire him, I guarantee we end up with someone like the Cuban Golden or the guy who is getting run out of Texas.

Herman is merely the flavor of the month. People will forget all about him as soon as he loses his first game. We need a proven winner. #BBB

You're the only person I have seen say, if he takes it. We don't know the contractual details, but it may contain a higher buyout, something he may not sign because of it. Just because their board is voting on it doesn't mean it's a sure thing at this point. I'll be surprised if he's there next year.

It is ***ing Houston you potatoes. They couldn't keep Briles or Sumlin, you think this ensures they keep Herman? It is HOUSTON.

Do you potatoes think ever?
