So glad got Richt vs Herman

If Herman has a couple more really solid seasons at Houston, he'll be able to pick from some top jobs next go round....

I suspect, as Herman showed at OSU last year, he is working with what he's got. I was, and still am, very impressed with what he did to move from the Braxton (Urban) offense to the Cardale model. Those were different animals.

I am not in love with the Richt hire, but I don't hate it and recognize that he brings an immediate name and credibility. I hope Richt is much more cut-throat than I give him credit for and that he proves me wildly wrong.

I am confident that Herman will be big time down the road. It looks like he is sure of that too, as he seemed pretty picky about opportunities to jump from Houston this year.

He has the 2nd highest winning percentage in the SEC for actives and did it with an AD up his as and a fraction of LSU/UF/BAMA/AU resources. You don't build his resume and last 15 years as HC in the SEC without being one cutthroat SOB. That's a fact. He is a professional, not some Muschamp sideline freak show.

UM won 5 NC's with guys who, when hired, had nowhere near Richt's resume, and those relative fliers, with access to S. Fl. savages, became legends. For the FIRST TIME, UM ponied up and paid top dollar for a PROVEN coach. And they just handed him the keys to the greatest talent pool on earth. Dis gone be gud.

That's still pro style. Almost all pro teams have spread elements now. I'd actually like to see Richt's offense push the ball down the field a bit more. We'll see if it was an issue of who was calling plays.

Personnel-driven. When Stafford was at UGA they threw downfield a ton.

we could've gotten herman had we fired golden after that 6-6 season lol, oh well Richt is not a bad consolation

Let's hope it's partly that and partly the playcaller (wasn't Richt). They had a couple solid WRs last year (2014) and they didn't push the ball as much as I would hope.

Just my opinion...so happy we gonna be pro style...UH offense does nothing for me...I like the Temple Qb and offense better

Any offense and defense that lays the wood to FSU is just fine with me...Hope our incoming DC is taking notes on how to send Dalvin to the showers...

Could have gotten them this year, but turned down several offers to remain loyal to Houton...He'll absolutely go to a Top Ten Program when he wants to...

They recruited Mettenberger who's a vertical throwing pocket passer. If he didn't get kicked out this is likely a non-issue.

If S. Coley comes back (perhaps even without him), there shouldn't be any excuses next year.

Kaaya
Njoku
Cager
Coley - Maybe

That's more than most teams need for a legitimate vertical game. Even guys like Brady should be used by bringing back the deep in. Guys like Berrios/Bruce (maybe) can be used to push vertically out of the slot.

Well, we still need a LT.

I'd like to see more plays run from under the center so we can fully unleash some shot plays off hard play action fakes. Let Kaaya control the run game from the line of scrimmage under center and limit the opportunities for edge rushers to get upfield.

I'm not an anti-spread guy but when you have a traditional pocket QB with a big unathletic line...

This offense would be better without so many screens but let's not do this. We have a great coach and with a monster defensive coordinator we'll have no regrets

I'm with that and I think we'll see a lot more of it. Only thing I rather not see too much of is 21 personnel. Maybe for a handful of plays, but I think (especially if Coley returns and even if not, because of Njoku's versatility) we should be in 11 Personnel often.
