So FSU

Won the Coastal. Won the first bowl game in a decade. First 10 win season in 13 years. But hey, sky is falling and we made a bad hire. At least we aren't paying Harbaugh, Chip, Herman, Taggart money for the same results...

I learned a loooooong time ago after EVERY loss .......to stand out of the way and let the "sky is falling", "hair on fire" group run on past. Because after ANY loss, they are always coming out ....running in numbers 1st.

WOW nothing can be worse than having an AL Golden, let alone any kind of "version".

Fact is, we did finally win the Coastal with this " Georgia hand me down".

YES our 1st game was truly a disaster, I'm as ****ed as anyone.....but we did beat FSU with our "hand me down" last year and there is no reason to believe we won't again this year.

Although many long called for changes remain to be made this season, I'm FAR from ready to write off FSU as a loss.

Al Golden also won the ACC coastal in 2012, his second year, but we gave it up to GT in an attempt to mitigate NCAA sanctions. He then took a team that also suffered from years of terrible recruiting to 9-4 in 2013, while having to deal with the Shapiro stuff. Golden and Richt both inherited messes and won the ACC coastal in their second year. It honestly looks like this Miami team will also finish 9-4. For a coach who is making twice as much as Al Golden, I kinda feel we should be a lot further along than we are now.

Think about this: if Bard Kaaya had returned last year, we would actually be in a worse qb situation now than we currently are because Rosier would probably have made his first start last Sunday. The only remotely positive thing we can say about Rosier as a QB is that he has experience and is apparently the only qb on the roster who has the IQ to master Richt's complex offense.

NO .....Actually we were in a three way tie with GT, UNC.for it.

I agree with some of what you said BUT imo we are infinitely more better off now with Richt than with Golden then.

I also agree without a doubt, our QB situation now with Rosier is abysmal and has to change

May have hired their own black version of Al Golden and we can’t even take advantage of that ish. The seminoles won their ‘13 title when we sucked. It pains me we can’t return the favor because we hired Georgia’s hand me down.
I watched that FSU game. Their QB is the real deal. He had them in the red zone at least 5-6 times. Their Defense is legit. FSU's problem is the Offensive Line. They are horrid. When inside the 5 yard line they can not run ... even having a 245 lb Jaques Patrick.

Rosier would lose track of them. They already move too fast as it is.

To be fair, I think that comment concerning Thomas was more about running controlled routes. I don't think he meant it the way it sounded. People way too antsy to be jumping on everything coming out of coach's or this guy's mouth.

No. He didn't. UNC did because they beat us head to head. Thanks to Butch, they were inelligible. Thanks to Shapiro we decided to vacate. GT won by default.

Tarheels were ineligible in 2012 (thanks Butch!), leaving Miami and GT. Miami beat GT, so we had the tiebreaker. Since UNC was ineligible, we were the champeens of the ACC coastal. Well we would have been, but the school stupidly self imposed a postseason ban for the second consecutive year, thus denying Al Golden two more opportunities to win a bowl game. If he had, his resume would include a 9 win season, irrelevant bowl game victory, and acc coastal title in 3 years. So basically Golden would have accomplished what Rick has accomplished thus far, but at the bargain bin salary of $2.4 million (and year 3 of Golden started off a **** of a lot better than Richt's year 3).

Call me a troll or a hater, but I don't think Miami is getting it's money's worth right now. Obviously Rick's qb horse whispering (and recruiting, apparently) has been an abysmal failure thus far, but Rosier's awfulness caused fans to overlook the general unpreparedness of the team in a nationally televised primetime game. On literally the first punt of the game, a LSU blocker ran untouched up the middle and nearly blocked the kick. Blocking on special teams is really really easy, which is why blocked kicks are relatively rare. Then after LSU scored a TD to make it 10-3, most of the team threw in the towel (Diaz con

To compound the embarrassment, rather than the staff and players admitting they got whupped and weren't prepared, they are making delusional statements like "we won the individual physical battles", Rosier was missing passes because his wrs are too fast, and the coaches had the players well prepared for the game.

Lol claiming that Golden would have “accomplished” what Richt has accomplished is absurd.

If Miami doesn't self impose, it is in the ACC championship game. That is a fact. UNC was ineligible to play. We had the head to head tiebreaker over GT.

And if UNC didn't have the ban they win. That is also a fact. The point is results. Richt won the Coastal undisputed with room to spare.

The fact that you learned this a “long time ago” speak volumes to how long we’ve been in this purgatory. Self fulfilling prophecy there champ.

Sorry, but to me, any comparison claiming that Golden was a good value for us, even better than Richt?... I find that completely ridiculous.

Goes to show the lengths some of the sky is falling crowd will go to try and instill fear and desperation here.

We've had bad losses before ( some even occurred under our "best ever" coaches)....in EVERY one of them we were "unprepared"or "under-prepared", Richt is NOT restricted from replacing Rosier, etc etc. We're far from being doomed...and far from being in a state that any reasonable person can ever say that we'd be better off having Golden here.

Want to throw in the towel after the 1st game of the season?, That's your choice.

I'm disappointed BUT not ready to join into the sky is falling panic.

Let's just leave it as ....we just simply disagree

I disagree. I think if Bard Kaayak came back last year then Rosier would never have started watching film and Kosi would have passed him over the summer. We never would have lost to Pit or Whisky with Kaayak and would have finished last year 12-1. We probably could have landed an extra recruit or 2 a season like that. Plus we wouldn't have this situation were Rosier is holding the QB position hostage.

I don't get any pleasure from pulling back the curtain and revealing that 3 years in we are not in much better shape than we were with Golden. People keep saying, "oh, it was one game" or we are so much better than the Golden era. Really? Based on what? Winning the ACC coastal? As I pointed out, Golden also achieved the feat in his second year, but school admin decided to give up the title to GT. 10 win season last year? Unless you are delusional, you know that should have been an 8 win team, but we got lucky. If Darell Langham doesn't make two unreal catches, we 100% lose those games. That would include barely beating an awful FSU team with a QB who made Rosier look like Dan Marino, and a terrible GT team at home. Then we had to scratch and claw to beat a one win UNC team. Oh and blowing an undefeated season by losing to a Pitt team that didn't even qualify for a bowl game.

You can blame Rosier all you want and think all would be well with a better qb. But Rosier didn't fold like a cheap card table after LSU scored its first TD. That was Manny Diaz's defense. Rosier didn't let a defender run straight up the middle and nearly block the first punt of the game. That was Hartley's special teams. Rosier didn't let defensive players bullrush into the backfield play after play, that was Searles offensive line. And ultimately, Rosier didn't build the depth chart and name himself the starting qb, that was Mark Rick, who didn't have a better qb prepared to play. Rick makes $5.5 million a year. His job is to get the team ready to play. Losing to LSU isn't what upsets me. If we'd had a physical battle of attrition and lost a close game, it's OK. You can't win 'em all. But the team that showed up on Sunday was nowhere near ready to play football and we got embarrassed on national TV by a clearly mediocre team.

Bottom line is that any objective person can clearly see that Rick did not do his job (which he gets paid quite handsomely for) to prepare players for the game against LSU. That is absolutely inexcusable in year 3.

We were in a 3 way tie. NO ONE won it outright.

Lot's of Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda's to go around.....i.e.... IF Auntie Willa had balls, we'd be calling her Uncle Bill

Fact is Richt won it outright leaving no doubt

Maybe.

So I guess we should have fired one of our greatest coaches Schnelly on the spot when he lost horribly to UF 28-3 in his 1st game in 1983 ....in case you didn't know we won the NC later that same year. Bad ***** happens ALL the time.

As I said, even our greatest coaches had losses where the team appeared unprepared or under prepared.

I wish we win EVERY game but I'm realistic enough to know that it probably won't happen.

Anyone who expected an undefeated season this year with Rosier at QB was missing a few marbles to begin with.

Regardless, I'll NEVER buy your Golden argument .......and as in ALL losses regardless of who the coach is, there is plenty of blame to go around...I agree its not just Rosier.
