So for absolutely no reason

the bad loss is SMU - that should not have happened.

Unfortunately, the Canes looked bad for the first half vs Lville because the staff couldn't be bothered to actually game plan/ prepare for Lville

Beck tried to over compensate and it didn't work out well.
Beck was trying to put Herman (cam) numbers up

Trying to force it down field

Didnt the Wario warriors say that who cares that Fat Wario went into a shell, everyone knows we dominated ND.

If only we had an actual smart fan base mayve we would have a smart coach. If we blew out ND, we would be ahead of them
Yeah, especially the ones that call other people dumb. And don’t even know how to spell the word “maybe”……..Or maybe next time use spell check…… Maybe.

We did this to ourselves knowing full well what the rules of the game were. It ain't going to change in our lifetime. So take care of business and this is not a conversation

Good thing bama didn’t do it to themselves when they lost to fsu.

Look at the ND wins. Their schedule is garbage. 3 of the teams they beat have FIVE combined wins.
If we played their schedule, CFP committee and ESPN talking heads would’ve already called us out.

You should actually play someone (looking at you Penn State) before being ranked.

You will never have 12 undefeated “perfect” teams in the CFP. When we played the best/toughest teams, we won.

We will have 3 common opponents (NC State, Syracuse, and Pitt) with ND and a H2H. We already beat NC State better than they did.

I’m trying to be optimistic…
4 with Stanford too. If we handle Pitt then we would have 4 games that we won by a wide margin. If ND has a tight game against either Syracuse or Stanford then it would be another metric we have on them.

We don't need to worry about getting in over ND.

We need to have one of BYU, Utah, Oklahoma, or Alabama lose.

One of those schools getting another loss is crucial for us.

If BYU sits at 10-2, our resume is better

Oklahoma, Utah and Alabama would both have 3 losses so they're outta here.

I don't expect ND to lose today. It's next week that's the spot that's a slip up. 10:30pm at Stanford.
Utah’s AD just went on the selection committee

But bama doesn’t need to worry about losing to FSU right?

Miami fans need to stop with the self loathing.
The problem isn’t a single perceived misstep (NIU for ND last year or FSU this year for Bama). It’s multiple missteps from Mario for many years.

As much as previous years should not matter the fact is they do. Perception >>> reality and the CFB committee has proved that just about every year.

This is all the cumulative result of:
-Mario's constant and embarrassing losses to teams we're way better than (6 losses as a 2 TD favorite)
-Mario's embarrassing November record (they expected him to lose again when they ranked us #18. We all expected it. He still might)
-Mario's embarrassing record in the ACC (5-4 in the last 9 ACC games)
-The ACC's embarrassing performance in the playoffs last year and out of conference in general
-The weakness of the ACC in general (B1G and SEC deserve 4 or 5 teams each and everybody else doesn't deserve more than 1 is how the SEC/B1G feel.)
-The failure to beat ND by more than 3 when we clearly controlled the game (the narrative has become "we beat them at home with a last second FG in a close game" instead of "Miami dominated ND and won by double digits")

Some of this is within our own control and some of it we can't do much about. Mario can only win the games and needs to realize that style points matter. If we won the ND game by 10+, we're probably ranked ahead of ND right now.
Live by the clenched ****, die by the clenched ****.

He coached not to lose for 8 weeks and is paying for it now.

Beat VT

Well Mario is also known for getting teams up for the big ones and winning them so by that logic they should expect Miami to be dialed in for a playoff game

Nah, he’s known for beating good teams early in the year but fumbling when it really matters as double digit favorites
